Entering the courtyard of the Pinacoteca di Brera, in Milan, you are greeted by this imposing bronze statue of Napoleon.
It is immediately clear that art and beauty in general will be the protagonists of a visit to this Italian museum.

Where exactly is the statue located:

In the spring of 1807, Minister Charles-Jean-Marie Alquier, French ambassador in Rome, by order of Prince Eugene de Beauharnais, viceroy of the Kingdom of Italy and stepson of Napoleon, commissioned Canova, for the sum of five thousand French louis, to make an exact bronze copy of the marble statue. The statue found a place only in 1859, when it was placed in the center of the courtyard of honor of the Brera Palace, on the occasion of Napoleon III's visit to Milan.

Uno scorcio di via Ciovasso a Milano.
L’ultima volta che sono stato a Milano mi sono perso nella zona del quartiere che una volta era chiamato Contrada dell’Orso poco distante dalla famosa zona di Brera.
Una parte antica della città meneghina molto caratteristica.

Where is the street located:

Vicolo Ciovasso, che deriverebbe dal latino volgare clivacium (da cui il termine dialettale milanese civàss, ovvero “declivio”) con chiaro richiamo al fatto che la strada, un tempo, scendeva fino alle mura romane di Milano, le cui fondamenta erano collocate in un avvallamento. Altra ipotesi vorrebbe che “Ciovasso” derivi dal nome di una famiglia nobiliare milanese, i Civasso.

The iconic Bar Brera in the Milanese neighborhood of the same name.
Walking through the center of Milan (let's say from the Duomo area), in a few minutes you arrive in the beautiful Brera neighborhood that welcomes visitors, as well as with the famous academy, also with several bars and outdoor areas for dining or having a coffee.
This is certainly the most famous and iconic!

I didn't find the link to the official website but only to the review on TripAdvisor.

The area follows the name of via Brera. The name Brera comes from braida: uncultivated land, vegetable garden. From this word also comes braidense, associated with the library of the same name. The artists who since the 19th century gravitated around the Academy of Fine Arts transformed the neighborhood into one of the most characteristic of Milan.

Courtyard of Honour of the Brera Palace in Milan.
One of the most famous Italian cultural venues in the world. This is the entrance cloister to the palace which houses the Brera Art Gallery, the Braidense National Library and the Academy of Fine Arts.
In the centre of the courtyard is the bronze statue of Napoleon Bonaparte as Mars the Peacemaker (a copy of the marble statue by Antonio Canova, now in Apsley House in London).

Here's where the courtyard is located:

The courtyard, like the entire building, dates back to the first half of the 17th century and was originally built as a cloister for the monastery of Santa Maria di Brera, governed by the Jesuit order, until the religious institute was suppressed and made property of the state, which transformed the building into the headquarters of the new academy of fine arts and art gallery.
