Look, for example, at this house (perhaps house is an understatement - it is really a villa or almost a castle) a few meters from the sea on the coast that goes from San Fruttuoso to Camogli.

Le aspre Coste del Parco di Portofino, in Liguria. Una foto molto spettacolare delle coste e dei capi che si tuffano nel mar Ligure dal Monte di Portofino. Durante l’escursione che ho fatto, l’estate scorsa, lungo il sentiero che da Camogli porta all’Abbazia di San Fruttuoso passando dalle Batterie. La camminata, come potete vedere, è difficile in qualche punto ma lo spettacolo che si può godere è forse uno dei più belli della Liguria.

Camogli vista dal sentiero per San Fruttuoso. Uno dei borghi marinari piu’ famosi della Liguria e sicuramente Camogli. Questa foto, scattata ormai diversi mesi fa, ad inizio del sentiero che va fino all’Abbazia di San Fruttuoso, mostra tutta la bellezza di questo paese dalle alte case affacciate sul mare. Voi siete mai stati a vistarlo? Magari in occasione della sagra del pesce , la famosa festa che si svolge a maggio con la famosissima padellona (camogliturismo.it).

The Basilica Minore di Santa Maria Assunta di Camogli. One of the most famous churches in Liguria and I think few people know its name. As in other shots, it is the main subject of the shots of the town of Camogli since it is right at the end of the splendid bay of the coastal town. You can't pass by here and not take a photo. I, even though I live a few minutes away by train, have only been there a couple of times. This one is from last summer, in September to be exact, and all the recent shots have been there since that day.

The triple lancet windows of the Abbey of San Fruttuoso in Camogli. Leaving the splendid complex of San Fruttuoso, located in one of the small inlets that the coast of Eastern Liguria offers to visitors, I photographed the detail of the windows of the building. Today they are closed with glass but maintain all the charm and splendor of the past.

Camogli il 17 settembre 2019. Una delle vedute più tipiche della cittadina del Levante ligure, della sua spiaggia e della sua Basilica. E’ uno degli scatti classici che tutti i turisti portano a casa e mettono sui social. E io ovviamente non sono da meno certamente. Unica pecca del mio pubblicare è la tempistica: spesso scatto decine di foto contemporaneamente e poi le pubblico diluite nel tempo; succede quindi, come in questo caso, che la foto scattata in estate venga pubblicata a febbraio… Aumenta solo la nostalgia delle belle giornate, vero?

Barchetta nel mar Ligure. Questa foto, scattata lo scorso settembre al largo del golfo Paradiso, dice tutto sul mare che abbiamo in Liguria. La foto l’ho scattata lungo il sentiero che da Camogli va a San Fruttuoso passando dalle batterie. E, se non ricordo male, la barca era proprio vicina allo scoglio di Punta Chiappa.

The Abbey of San Fruttuoso and the beach. What is more beautiful than this place just a few kilometers from Sestri Levante and Genoa? At the end of a truly strenuous walk you can dive into this small inlet with crystal clear water and delicate pebbles.

Here is where the Abbey is located:
The abbey is dedicated to Saint Fructuosus of Tarragona, a 3rd century Catalan bishop and saint, whose ashes are preserved in the abbey, where they were supposedly transferred following the Arab invasion of the Iberian Peninsula. The abbey cannot be reached by any road, but can only be accessed by sea or by following two panoramic paths: one that descends from the Portofino mountain above and the other that runs along the coast starting from the Portofino bay. The transparent sea at Punta Chiappa in Liguria. Probably the most famous promontory in the whole of Liguria. It separates Camogli from Portofino. The water has an almost indescribable color and don't tell me that in other parts of the world, perhaps exotic, it is more beautiful. This photo was taken at the end of last summer, in September, and I managed to shoot (thanks to the telephoto lens) more or less from the Batterie location. This location is the point where the anti-aircraft and anti-ship guns that protected the coast during the Second World War were located.

The small port of Camogli, a beautiful village in Liguria. The splendid town of the Golfo Paradiso with its buildings and its colorful small port. This photo was taken a few months ago, in September to be exact, when I walked the path that leads from this town to San Fruttuoso. On the way back, you get here by boat.

Typical seaside village, a tourist center known for its small port and the colorful buildings on the seafront. It is also called the "City of a thousand white sailing ships".
