Unusual view of the courthouse in Chiavari, the former tribunal.
Normally it is photographed from Piazza Mazzini, on the facade, but I was in that part and it came out a beautiful shot.

Palace of Justice. The building, which housed the Chiavari court until 2013, is located in the heart of the historic center of Chiavari in Piazza Giuseppe Mazzini. Built in 1886 and designed by Giuseppe Partini, it is in medieval style with forms inspired by Tuscan Gothic. It was erected on the site of the ancient “Cittadella” of the fifteenth century, built by the Republic of Genoa as a concentration of civil and military power, of which the crenellated tower from 1537 is still visible.

A sand castle on the beach of Valencia

A wonderful sand castle on the beach in Valencia.
Sand castles are always fascinating. If it is big and well made like the one on the beach in Valencia, everyone is left speechless, even adults.
This one, which remained there for all four days I was in the Spanish city, was always well-controlled and moistened by the author who stayed there all day to guard (and ask for a little offering).

Ibiza seen from above. In addition to being the most famous island in Europe for its discotheque and unbridled entertainment during summer nights, it is also a town with its own sides to discover.

Il castello di Ibiza.
Una delle attrazioni di Ibiza, ovviamente come tutti voi sapete già Ibiza non è propriamente famosa in Italia per il turismo culturale, è il suo castello affacciato sul mare.
In questa foto, scattata direttamente dalla nave, si può vedere tutta la sua imponenza.

A beautiful sand castle made in Honduras.
It's not the first time that a sand construction has been found on the beach in Roatan (a few years ago there were dolphins that I think are in a post). This time an incredible sand castle that seems to have come out of a Grimm brothers' fairy tale. A sight to see on the beach.
Castles made with sand are always fascinating even if they are not always suitable for children (like the ones in this post). However, those made with a plastic bucket are always fun for everyone. Raise your hand if you have never made (or tried to make) one.

Il castello di Bran, noto come il castello di Dracula.
Non sarà il vero castello di Dracula ma il Bran Castle è sicuramente un posto da vedere se si passa in Romania.
Posto solo per turisti con tante bancarelle per gadget (sempre gli stessi) per tutti i gusti.

Il castello di Bran (Törzburg in tedesco e Törcsvár in ungherese), presso il villaggio di Bran (vicino Brașov) è un monumento nazionale della Romania. La fortezza sorge sull’antico confine tra la Transilvania e la Valacchia. Il castello di Bran ha ispirato la descrizione del castello di Dracula nel romanzo di Bram Stoker, ma non è il vero maniero storicamente appartenuto al voivoda (principe) Vlad III di Valacchia. Il vero “castello Dracula” è l’ormai distrutto Castello di Poenari.

Castello di Paros

Castello Parikia

Castello di Paros.
Questa bizzarra costruzione si trova nel cuore di Parikia, sull’isola di Paros in Grecia.

Si tratta di un castello del 1260, costruito dai veneziani del Ducato di Naxos sulle rovine di un antico tempio di Atena (da lì la sua particolarità, che si nota bene in questo scorcio, di essere costruito assemblando pezzi di una costruzione completamente differente!). Il Castello di Parikia non è l’attrazione principale di Paros, ma merita sicuramente una visita se vi trovate in vacanza sull’isola!

Fuochi patronali di Rapallo, 3 luglio 2013.
I fuochi d’artificio sono sempre una cosa che mi piace moltissimo.
Erano diversi anni che non andavo a vedere quelli di Rapallo e, sinceramente, non ricordavo nemmeno di aver visto quando viene dato fuoco al castello.
