He was an admiral of the Royal Navy and Minister of the Navy of the Kingdom of Italy. He was decorated with the gold medal for military valor. He was born in Chiavari in 1865 to Gustavo Millo of the Counts of Casalgiate and Maria Luisa Altoè of the Counts Anguissola di Altoè.

Chiavari is certainly the Ligurian city with the most porticoes. The historic center is entirely crossed by a straight road that takes several topographical us.
First is via Martiri della Liberazione; then continues in via Vittorio Veneto and ends in Corso Dante.

The Caruggio Dritto, also known as Via Martiri della Liberazione, is the beating heart of the historic center of Chiavari. This pedestrian street is famous for its medieval porticos and the magnificent palaces that line it, representing a real journey through time.
The Caruggio Dritto is one of the oldest and best preserved streets in Liguria. The palaces that overlook this street date back mainly to the period between the 14th and 18th centuries. The Palace with Black Porticoes in Chiavari

The Palazzo dai Portici Neri in Chiavari.
Located in the heart of Chiavari, the Palazzo dai Portici Neri is one of the oldest and most fascinating buildings in the city. Built in the 13th century, this historic palace is located in Piazza Fenice, near the castle and the ancient medieval walls.
The palace originally belonged to Opizzo Fieschi, a member of one of the most influential families of medieval Liguria.
