The statues of the Cathedral of Palermo

Le statue della Cattedrale di Palermo

The statues of the Cathedral of Palermo.
The garden that is next to this splendid church of Palermo has walls and entrances decorated with these beautiful statues of Saints (or at least I think that's what they are).
These elements also contribute to making the monument extraordinary.

San Lorenzo, the Cathedral of Genoa

La Cattedrale di Genova

San Lorenzo, the Cathedral of Genoa.
San Lorenzo welcomes you in its majesty and with its typical Genoese colors.
A must-see for all tourists who come to visit the Superba also because it is exactly halfway between the Porto Antico (and the Aquarium) and Piazza De Ferrari.
I already have another post with several photos of the Cathedral (here) but they are a bit old (and not of excellent quality) while this one was taken with a wide angle.

Where is the Cathedral located:

According to archaeological findings, a stable Christian community was certainly present in the city of Genoa already in the middle of the third century and actually used the area of San Lorenzo as a burial place. The cemetery was, based on the material found, very probably already used in Roman times.

La facciata della Basilica dei Fieschi

The facade of the Basilica dei Fieschi.
In my opinion this is one of the most beautiful little churches in all of Liguria.
When I pass by San Salvatore, if I have time and a camera, I always try to stop by to take a couple of photos.

The small village of Loto in Liguria

Il borgo di Loto

The small village of Loto in Liguria.
Among the villages and hamlets in the Sestri Levante area there is also one called Loto.
It is located along the road that passes through San Bernardo and rejoins the one that goes to Libiola and Montedomenico.
Just before there is also the detour that leads to Selva.

The Church of Sant’Antonio in Sestri Levante

Sant'Antonio a Sestri Levante

The church of Sant’Antonio in Sestri Levante.
The church dedicated to the Saint of Padua, Anthony, in the center of Sestri Levante.
A modern church (of which there is even a website santantoniosestri.it) which I believe belongs to the most populous parish of the coastal town.

Even though I live just over a quarter of an hour away by car, I had never been to visit it.

The hamlet of Pila sul Gromolo in Sestri Levante

Pila sul Gromolo

The hamlet of Pila sul Gromolo in Sestri Levante.
Pila is a popular neighborhood of Sestri Levante. Popular because there are several apartment buildings built to house the many workers of the former FIT and the Naval Shipyard.
It is now a residential neighborhood in all respects.
The photo was taken from the heights of San Bernardo and you can see the soccer field (the Sivori A) where the Corsari, the local team, play, and next to it the modernist church of San Paolo in Pila.
The quality is not excellent because I was really far away and there was a lot of humidity, however I think it is a pleasant shot.
