The name of the Church of Santa Maria Forisportam is linked to the fact that, compared to the oldest city walls, that of the Roman era, this church was located outside the city, hence foris portam (outside the gate).

Marmorkirken, the marble church of Copenhagen.
The Evangelical Lutheran church of Copenhagen whose name is literally the marble church. Dedicated to the three hundred years of the coronation of the first member of the Oldenburg dynasty. It is the building with the largest dome in Scandinavia.
On the roof of the facade two beautiful statues that I photographed in hdr.
It was built together with the Frederiksstaden complex, the most important rococo complex in Europe.

The splendid Pisan Romanesque style church located where the Roman forum once stood, whose façade is dominated by the statue of the winged Saint Michael.

A legend from Lucca tells that in particular light conditions it is possible to see a green sparkle coming from the statue; it would be, according to the legend, an emerald, set in ancient times and never found. Some sources, mostly from elderly inhabitants of the city, confirm having seen the phantom sparkle, but it has never been proven that an emerald is set in the work, which is also highly unlikely.

Chiesa greca a Pireo.
Non so dirvi il nome di questa chiesa greca ortodossa che fa bella mostra di se nei dintorni del porto del Pireo in Grecia.
Come da tradizionali colori ellenici il contrasto tra il bianco della facciata con l’azzurro turchese delle cupole.

Santo Stefano del Ponte a Sestri Levante.
Tutte le volte che faccio la camminata col cane a Villa Staffora, a Sestri Levante, non posso esimermi dal fotografare la bella chiesa di Santo Stefano del Ponte.
Questa immagine in hdr con anche il piccolo residence (Villa Durazzo-Solari-Serlupi, ora hiamata Villa Rimassa) che sta ai suoi piedi è un luogo splendido, non trovate?

Una delle chiese più antiche di Sestri Levante si trova sull’isola ed è San Nicolò.
In questo scatto il campanile in pietra della chiesetta fotografato dalla spiaggia di Portobello.

Sede di una delle prime comunità parrocchiali di Sestri Levante fu edificata, secondo alcune fonti storiche, intorno al 1151 nei pressi del promontorio sestrese – detto “Isola” – molto probabilmente su un preesistente edificio di culto cristiano eretto dai monaci colombaniani di Bobbio. Divenuta sede succursale della diocesi di Brugnato nel 1519, la sua parrocchia fu soppressa nei primi anni del XVII secolo in concomitanza alla costruzione della nuova basilica di Santa Maria di Nazareth.

Nei primi giorni di luglio cade la festa patronale della Nostra Signora dell’Orto, la cattedrale di Chiavari.
In questa foto in hdr, che avevo scattato per l’occasione, la chiesa illuminata ed addobbata per l’occasione.

La chiesa fu eretta dopo la miracolosa apparizione della Vergine Maria il 2 luglio 1610 nella zona dove un tempo sorgevano gli orti – da cui deriverebbe la denominazione Madonna dell’Orto – al concittadino Sebastiano Descalzo. Nel luogo dell’apparizione era già presente un pilone raffigurante la Madonna con i santi Sebastiano e Rocco, eretto dai chiavaresi per scongiurare la malattia della peste che afflisse la cittadella nel 1493 e nel 1528.
