The stained glass window of the Convent of San Francisco in Cadiz. The Convent of San Francisco in Cadiz is known not only for its historic architecture, but also for its beautiful stained glass windows. Among these, the stained glass window in the main chapel stands out for its beauty and complexity. The stained glass window was created in the late Middle Ages, a period in which stained glass art reached its peak in Europe. Commissioned by the Franciscan friars, the window was intended to depict scenes from the life of St. Francis of Assisi, the founder of the order. Each panel of the window tells a different story from the life of the saint, from his conversion to his preaching to the animals. The stained glass window is composed of numerous panels of colored glass, joined together by thin strips of lead. The bright colors and intricate decorations make each scene a masterpiece of sacred art. The details are extraordinary: the faces of the saints, the expressions of the animals, and the background landscapes are all rendered with astonishing precision. The technique used to create the stained glass window is that of painting on glass, followed by firing in a kiln to fix the colors. This technique allows for bright and long-lasting colors that resist the passage of time. In addition, the use of lead to join the pieces of glass gives the window a solid and resistant structure. The stained glass window represents the devotion of the Franciscan friars and their dedication to spreading the message of St. Francis. Furthermore, it continues to be a source of inspiration for visitors and believers who admire its beauty and spiritual meaning.

A majestic but hidden palace in the historic center of Sestri Levante. Every time I walk in the small historic center of my Sestri, and I decide to pass by the church of San Pietro, I always see this palace and its majestic (for the proportions of Sestri) entrance staircase. Being adjacent to the church, perhaps it was a part of it, perhaps of the convent. I always wonder if anyone can tell me…
Update: I found out more in the comments and also from a site I mentioned below.

In the food market of Vico Macelli, near which, we recall, there was a frying shop (la Frisaia) aimed not so much at immediate consumption, but at the treatment of the fish which, once fried, was placed in garlic vinegar (aggiada). Continua e approfondisci su: effecimmobiliare.com

The churchyard of the Capuchins and the view of the Bay of Sestri Levante. My favorite spot to take photos of the Bay (and not only mine of course) is the terrace that encloses the churchyard of the Capuchin Convent

The former Convent of the Annunziata in the Bay of Silence in Sestri. Used as the headquarters of some technology companies or as a conference center, the former Annunziata was a Dominican convent that, among other things, always hosted young people with health problems who benefited from the sea air. As often happens when I take my telephoto lens with me, it is one of my favorite subjects of the Bay of Silence.

The original convent was built in 1469 by the Dominican fathers, who had already established their base in the Genoese complex of Santa Maria di Castello since 1442. The structure is located on the extreme tip of the Sestri Levante peninsula, overlooking the sea on three sides: two towards the Baia del Silenzio and one towards the open sea of the Gulf of Tigullio. The Ex Convento dell’Annunziata in Sestri Levante. One of the most famous buildings that create the scenery of the Baia del Silenzio in Sestri Levante is certainly the Convento dell’Annunziata. Today used for city and international events, it is managed by the company Mediaterraneo which decides on its use.

The fig tree in the former convent of the Annunziata. On the terrace of the former Convent of the Annunziata overlooking the Bay of Silence there is a splendid tree, I think a fig. Among other things there is a nice bar (the Tapullo) which offers typical Ligurian products and aperitifs in a setting unique in the world.

An entrance near the Annunziata in Sestri. It's not a particularly interesting photo but I took it and, since it portrays a place that is quite popular these days (thanks to the Andersen Prize), I'm posting it here. Right next to the entrance to the Annunziata and from here you can access some private buildings. However, I like the photo... the contrast between the red of the facade and the green of the climbing plant on the wall.
