The Costa Firenze docked in Flam in Norway.
Last summer I was, after several years, in Northern Europe embarked on the Costa Firenze.
When we were in the town of Flam with the ship I got off to take a walk and a couple of photos of the famous "yellow chimney"!

Here is where the small village is located:
Flåm is a Norwegian village of about 500 inhabitants, at the end of the Aurlandsfjord, a branch of the Sognefjord. The village is located in the municipality of Aurland, in the county of Vestland, Norway. It is touched by the European route E16. The valley of Flåm was formed by the thick layer of ice that remained in this area for millions of years: the erosion of the glacier made the land sink, creating the deep and wide valleys that attract a large number of tourists every year.

La Costa Firenze in arrivo nel porto di Copenhagen lo scorso luglio.
Il mio scorso contratto sono stato a lavorare sulla Costa Firenze (nave che era della Costa Crociere fino allo scorso gennaio – ora in Carnival).
Queste due foto le ho scattate dalla banchina aspettando mentre la nave stava facendo manovra per attraccare al porto di Copenhagen, in Danimarca.
Il mio primo giorno di contratto!

The Costa Fascinosa docked in the port of Grenada in the Caribbean.
It's been almost a year since I've been working in the Caribbean.
I still have many photos that I took and that I have yet to publish like this one, with my ship, the Costa Fascinosa (of Costa Crociere) docked in the port of Grenada!

Grenada (Grenadian Creole: Gwenad) is an island nation in the southeastern Caribbean Sea, which also includes the Southern Grenadines. Grenada is the second smallest independent state in the American continent (after Saint Kitts and Nevis). It covers approximately 344 km² and is located north of Trinidad and Tobago and south of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

La Costa Fascinosa in porto a Bonaire nei Caraibi.
Lo scorso anno il mio lavoro mi ha portato con la nave ai Caraibi e giunti nell’isola di Bonaire sono stato a fare un giretto in cerca di una spiaggetta, vicina alla nave, in cui fare un bagnetto.
La spiaggia non l’ho trovata, in compenso ho fatto una bella foto della nave su cui ho lavorato, la Costa Fascinosa (di Costa Crociere)!

Bonaire (Dutch: Bonaire, Papiamento: Boneiru) is an island of 288 km² that is a special municipality of the Netherlands (Dutch: bijzondere gemeente), located in the Caribbean Sea, off the coast of Venezuela. It is the second largest island in the Dutch Caribbean, after Curaçao. Together with Sint Eustatius and Saba, it is part of the BES Islands (or Caribbean Netherlands). The only two inhabited centers are the capital Kralendijk and Rincon.

Il tramonto a Saint Vincent and Grenadine visto dalla Costa Fascinosa.
La scorsa stagione ero a lavorare ai caraibi, imbarcato sulla splendida Costa Fascinosa.
Dal ponte esterno mi ricaricava le batterie, quando possibile, seguire la partenza e godermi il tramonto in pace.
Che bella sensazione!

In the last season in the Caribbean I took many photos of the ship in various ports.
This one, for example, I took while the ship was in port in Bridgetown in Barbados.

La Costa Fascinosa in banchina nel porto di ST John’s ad Antigua.
Come tutti voi forse saptrete io lavoro per la Costa Crociere e, di tanto in tanto, ho la fortuna di trovarmi a fare crociere (lavorando) in giro per il mondo.
Uno degli itinerari che preferisco in assoluto sono i Caraibi.
Questa è la splendida e maestosa nave, la Fascinosa con la quale ho trascorso l’ultimo contratto, ormeggiata nella banchina del porto di St John’s ad Antigua, una delle più belle isole che raggiungevamo.

La Costa Deliziosa a Siracusa.
A fine settembre sono stato a fare una crociera sulla Costa Deliziosa (mi mancava troppo la nave) e, tra le moltissime foto che ho scattato, c’erano anche queste due della terrazza di poppa della nave in porto nella splendida Siracusa.
In bella vista l’isola di Ortigia, sulla destra.
Spero di ripartire presto, non ne posso più di stare a casa.

The Bianca Costa monument in Grenada.
Walking through the town of Saint George’s in Grenada I discover this statue that attracts me because it is similar to a very famous one in Liguria.
In fact, it reminds me of the Christ of the Abyss immersed in the sea just off the coast of the Abbey of San Fruttuoso.
Intrigued by the statue, I read the plaque and am even more amazed.
The plaque reads: “To the people of Grenada in grateful remembrance of the fraternal Christian hospitality shown to passengers and crew of the Italian liner Bianca C, destroyed by fire in this harbor on October 22, 1961. Dedicated by the Costa Line of Genoa, Italy.“.
It is in fact a monument dedicated to the help that the local people provided to the passengers and crew of the Bianca Costa ship that was destroyed and sunk in the port of this island in 1961 by a fire.

The fire caused the evacuation of about 700 passengers and crew. Meanwhile, Grenadian fishermen, awakened by the sound of the explosion, rushed to help. The survivors were taken to the capital, where hospitals were built to provide shelter and food.
