La lunga storia della città e il succedersi di numerose civiltà e popoli le hanno regalato un notevole patrimonio artistico e architettonico. Il sito seriale Palermo arabo-normanna e le cattedrali di Cefalù e Monreale, di cui fanno parte più beni monumentali situati in città, nel 2015 è stato dichiarato Patrimonio dell’umanità dall’Unesco. Numerosi edifici, tra chiese e palazzi, sono riconosciuti monumenti nazionali italiani.

Fontana del Nettuno a Napoli.
Questo bel monumento, fotografato dal di dietro per far vedere la ciminiera gialla, e’ nella bella piazza che sta di fronte alla Stazione Marittima di Napoli.
Se dal porto crociere si vuole andare a piedi al centro bisogna passare per forza in questa piazza e non si puo’ non notare la grande e bella fontana.

La fontana del Nettuno (detta anche fontana Medina) è una fontana monumentale della città di Napoli. oluta dal viceré Enrique de Guzmán, conte di Olivares, il quale governò a Napoli dal 1595 al 1599, fu effettivamente lavorata tra il 1600 e il 1601, durante il viceregno del conte di Lemos, su direzione di Domenico Fontana. Alla realizzazione della fontana parteciparono anche Michelangelo Naccherino (che realizzò il Nettuno), Angelo Landi e Pietro Bernini (che scolpì i mostri marini).

Alle falde dell’Etna.
Qualche settimana fa, con la nave, attraccavamo a Catania. A dire la verita’ non sono mai sceso a farmi un giro in citta’ ma quasi tutte le mattine, prima di arrivare, passando davanti a questo vulcano mastodontico, ancora innevato, rimanevo senza parole.

L’Etna o Mongibello è un complesso vulcanico siciliano originatosi nel Quaternario e rappresenta il vulcano attivo terrestre più alto della placca euroasiatica. Le sue frequenti eruzioni nel corso della storia hanno modificato, a volte anche profondamente, il paesaggio circostante, arrivando più volte a minacciare le popolazioni che nei millenni si sono insediate intorno a esso.
Il 21 giugno 2013 la XXXVII sessione del Comitato UNESCO, ha inserito il Monte Etna nell’elenco dei beni costituenti il Patrimonio dell’umanità.

Un piatto molto buono mangiato a bordo della Costa Fascinosa compreso nel menu di gala e preparato con riso, fragole e champagne.
Oltre al gusto delicato e rotondo un occhio anche all’estetica con un fiorellino come guarnizione!

Il risotto è un primo piatto tipico della cucina italiana, originario della Lombardia poi diffusosi in tutto il nord Italia e oggi diffuso in numerose versioni in tutto il paese. La sua caratteristica principale è il mantenimento dell’amido, che, gelatinizzatosi a causa della cottura, lega i chicchi tra loro in un composto di tipo cremoso.

When the ship leaves a port there is nothing more relaxing than sitting at the stern and watching the wake left by the ship.
this was the stern of the Costa Fascinosa just left Savona last week.

Costa Fascinosa is a cruise ship of the Genoa-based Costa Crociere company. It was ordered in October 2007 and built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera. It entered service on 5 May 2012. The names Costa Fascinosa and Costa Favolosa were selected through a competition. The choice of names was guided by approximately 40,000 travel agents in over 40 countries, who submitted more than 16,000 possible pairs of names for the two ships. In the end, twenty-five pairs of names were published on the World of Costa website, where visitors were invited to choose their favorite pairing, and after more than 42,000 preferences expressed, in the end the names “Favolosa” and “Fascinosa” were the winners.
