Spanish croquetas tasted in Tenerife

Delle croquetas spagnole gustate a Tenerife

Spanish croquetas tasted in Tenerife.
There are two things that I really love to eat when I'm in Spain and I always try to order them: jamon serrano and croquetas.
In Santa Cruz de Tenerife I found this place, just outside the center, where they were really good and the right size for my appetite!

Great Spanish Croquetas in Tenerife

Some excellent Spanish croquettes tasted in Tenerife.
One of my favorite dishes in Spain are croquettes with ham.
In this case these, which were really excellent, I tasted them in a tasca (a tavern) in the center of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Here's where the market is located:

La Boqueria is the most famous market in Spain and one of the largest in Catalonia with its 2,583 square meters and more than 300 stalls. It is also one of the oldest markets in Spain: born at the beginning of the 17th century at the gates of the city in the plain of Pla de la Boqueria (which today is a small square in front of the current market) to avoid paying taxes on goods, it was inaugurated later, in 1836, where it is still located halfway along the popular Rambla, between the Palau de la Virreina and the Liceu Theater.

Cuttlefish Ink Croquettes

Crocchette al nero di seppia

Cuttlefish ink croquettes.
Croquettes, usually with potatoes and ham, can also be found with squid ink.
It was the first time I tried them and I must say I was impressed.
Externally they are like all the others but if you open them (as in the second photo) you will see the difference in color and, when you taste them, in taste.
I tried these in Ibiza at the Chiringuito Restaurant in Cala Gracioneta.

Croquettes are usually enjoyed as an aperitif or as a side dish and are part, I believe, of the Spanish culinary culture of tapas.

The Spanish term tapa refers to a wide variety of typical Spanish food preparations, both savoury and sweet, consumed as appetizers or starters. Spanish tapas are prepared with ingredients related to Mediterranean food production.
Le tapas possono essere fredde, quando vengono preparate, per esempio, con le olive miste e il formaggio, o calde, con polpo e calamari fritti.
