Una dei punti più belli per fotografare lo splendido complesso del Duomo di Firenze è questo appena dietro il Battistero.

The Metropolitan Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, commonly known as the Florence Cathedral, is the main church of Florence, the symbol of the city and one of the most famous in Italy; when it was completed in the fifteenth century, it was the largest church in the world, while today it is considered the third in Europe after St. Peter's in Rome and the Milan Cathedral. It stands on the foundations of the ancient cathedral of Florence, the church of Santa Reparata, in a part of the city that has hosted places of worship since Roman times.

Gli affreschi sulla facciata di un palazzo a Chiavari.
Passeggiando per il bel centro storico della città di Chiavari, quasi ogni volta, poso lo sguardo (e di conseguenza l’obiettivo della mia macchinina fotografica) su qualche punto che non avevo mai visto prima.
Come questi bei affreschi sulla facciata di un palazzo (se non ricordo male in via Giuseppe Raggio) all’altezza del sagrato della Chiesa di San Giovanni.

Il Teatro Regio di Parma uno dei più importanti al mondo

Il Teatro Regio di Parma uno dei teatri più importanti al mondo.
Passeggiando per il centro della città di Parma sono finito per passare di fronte a quella che e’ una istituzione italiana per quanto riguarda l’opera: il Teatro Regio.
Purtroppo la mia visita (e foto) a questo edificio si limita alla bella facciata neoclassica ma chissà che un giorno non vi ritorni a vedere qualche opera.

La facciata di Santa Maria del Fiore a Firenze

La bella facciata di Santa Maria del Fiore, Duomo di Firenze.
Una delle chiese più famose del mondo è sicuramente il Duomo di Firenze.
Rappresenta, dal punto di vista religioso, il Rinascimento artistico ed incanta con la sua bellezza.
Alla sua costruzione hanno partecipato personalità come: Arnolfo di Cambio, Giotto, Francesco Talenti, Giovanni di Lapo Ghini e Brunelleschi e contiene opere di Giorgio Vasari e Federico Zuccari.
La facciata più moderna,in stile neogotico, è opera di Emilio de Fabris.

The calendar and the inscription for pilgrims on the Cathedral of Lucca.
On the rich facade of San Martino, the Cathedral of Lucca, there are many bas-reliefs and inscriptions.
One of these represents the months of the year and the typical actions of the period represented (such as putting wine in barrels in October).
Further down there is a long inscription which, if I am not mistaken, is a kind of guarantee for pilgrims that they will not be cheated during the visit to the Holy Face.

The inscription that the apothecaries and money changers had engraved and positioned, in which they pledged not to cheat in the exchange of money and not to counterfeit the products sold to pilgrims. The inscription is from 1111 and these are some significant passages: "(...) All the apothecaries and money changers swear that from that moment on they would not commit thefts, frauds or forgeries within the court of San Martino or in the houses where hospitality is given" and concludes "(...) Every foreigner should read this inscription in this trust and fear nothing for himself".

La facciata decorata di un palazzo in caruggio a Rapallo.
Qualche mese fa mi sono armato di macchina fotografica e ho deciso di scattare più foto possibile nella città di Rapallo, deciso a colmare un gap del mio sito.
Passeggiando in caruggio la mia attenzione si e’ posata sulla facciata di questo palazzo decorato con cinque bassorilievi (o altorilievi mi e’ ancora difficile capirne la differenza) in terracotta.
Dal momento che faccio persino fatica a capirne il significato (mi pare che uno sia a sfondo religioso) ho deciso di postare qui la foto e chiedere a voi.

Il labirinto scolpito sulla facciata del Duomo di Lucca.
Uno dei segni più fotografati e riconosciuti della Cattedrale di San Martino a Lucca è questo labirinto e la frase incisa alla sua destra.
Molte le ipotesi del suo significato anche se la frase scolpita fa riferimento al labirinto di Dedalo.

Come mia abitudine non scopiazzo e vi rimando, più in basso, ad un altro sito che vi spiega di più.

Ma ciò che davvero cattura l’attenzione di molti visitatori è il piccolo labirinto scolpito nella pietra, collocato nel pilastro di destra del portico della facciata. Questa figura in bassorilievo è una delle più enigmatiche di Italia.

Quando, qualche mese fa ormai, sono stato a fare un giro nella cittadina di La Spezia ho fotografato dall’esterno questa bella chiesa del centro città.

In un’abitazione fuori dalle mura di cinta, a poca distanza da Porta Biassa, vi era una casa al cui interno era custodita un dipinto su legno, rappresentante la Beatissima Vergine.
Un giorno il torrente Lagora straripò a causa delle copiose piogge invadendo d’acqua anche la casa che custodiva la preziosa effigie. In mezzo a tanta distruzione solo una cosa si salvò: proprio la sacra immagine della Nostra Signora della Neve.

The lunette of the central portal of Santa Croce in Florence.
The beautiful Basilica of Florence in a detail of the facade and, in particular, of the lunette of the central portal which portrays the story of the cross (to which Jesus was nailed and which gives its name to the church) sculpted by Giovanni Duprè (the Triumph of the Cross).

According to Christian tradition, the True Cross was partly preserved in Jerusalem, partly in Constantinople and partly in Rome. The Jerusalem relic remained there until 1187, when all traces of it were lost after the conquest of the Holy City by Saladin. In several places there are fragments that are said to come from it.

La facciata della Basilica di Santa Croce a Firenze.
Sono stato diverse volte nella città toscana di Firenze ma, nonostante me lo fossi già riproposto da molto tempo, solo recentemente sono riuscito a visitare la Basilica di Santa Croce.
Ed è stata veramente una visita meravigliosa tante sono le bellezze e le pagine della storia che questo monumento racchiude al suo interno.
