The Bay of Silence on February 29, 2024.
Last winter I was at home and I took the opportunity to, as they say, put hay in the barn for the months when I will be on the ship.
This was the bay of Portobello, known by all as the Bay of Silence, the renowned beach of my Sestri Levante.

The Bay of Silence in Sestri Levante on February 19, 2024.
Probably in winter, if you are lucky enough to be in this place on a nice day, there is no more beautiful place to take a short walk accompanied only by the relaxing sound of the waves that gently caress the beach of the Bay of Silence.

La Baia del Silenzio di Sestri Levante lo scorso 29 febbraio.
Quando lo scorso inverno ero a casa ho scattato decine di foto alla Baia.
Il simbolo della mia cittadina.
Qui due scatti ripresi in due punti differenti: uno dalla Salita dei Cappuccini e l’altro da dietro la statua del Pescatore.

Uno dei simboli di Sestri Levante.
Ogni tanto qualche visitatore commenta chiedendomi perchè metto così tante foto della Baia del Silenzio e che ci sono anche altre cose a Sestri.
Sono d’accordo ma non mi stancherò mai di fotografare (e condividere) la bellezza delle case che si affacciano sulla piccola baia. In special modo in inverno (la foto è di febbraio 2024)!

The final part of the caruggio of Sestri Levante.
The final part of via XXV Aprile, the caruggio for everyone, the one towards the church of Santa Maria di Nazareth.
Colorful houses, outdoor seating of restaurants and taverns.
There were few people also because it was a gloomy morning in early February (2024).

La Baia del Silenzio di Sestri Levante.
In questi giorni la Baia del Silenzio è spettacolare. Sia che ci sia il sole, sia con il cielo nuvoloso, si può camminare lungo il bagnasciuga e non incontrare nessuno.
In questa foto, fatta scattandone tre con diverse esposizioni sovrapposte, mi piace molto per i colori tenui.

La Baia del Silenzio di Sestri Levante il primo febbraio 2024.
Il simbolo della mia Sestri è la Baia del Silenzio.
In inverno, questa foto l’ho scattata pochi giorni fa, è un luogo spesso deserto (ma solo durante la settimana e alla mattina) e si può fare una passeggiata lungo il mare senza incontrare anima viva.

Questa mattina sono stata a fare una passeggiata nel centro di Sestri Levante ed ho scattato un paio di foto nella Baia del Silenzio.

La spiaggia di Ponente di Riva Trigoso.
Una bella foto invernale della bella spiaggia (quella che da molti viene chiamata la spiaggia del bunker) fotografata lo scorso inverno (l’11 febbraio 2021).
Ho sempre moltissime foto che scatto ma riesco a pubblicare solo molto tempo successivamente.

La caligo su Sestri Levante le scorso febbraio.
Il mese scorso a Sestri Levante, ma un po’ in tutta la Liguria, si è presentato questo bizzarro effetto metereologico noto con il nome di caligo.
E’ una fitta nebbia che viene dal mare e avvolge veramente tutto.
E’ durata un paio di giorni e ha lasciato molti sbigottiti!
Il secondo giorno dell’effetto ero a fare una piccola camminata sul sentiero che va da Villa Tassani a Verici e ho scattato qualche foto.
Ho provato a elaborarle un poco perché altrimenti non si capiva bene l’effetto.

Una leggenda popolare che viene tramandata da generazioni e che vuole che il caligo non siano nient’altro che gli spiriti che risalgono dal mare…
