Percorrendo la via (via Dante) che dal Duomo di Milano corre fino al Castello Sforzesco, si arriva in questa bello slargo, Largo Cairoli, che ospita una bella statua di Giuseppe Garibaldi a cavallo.

Considered by historiography and in the mass culture of the 20th century as the main Italian national hero, he began his travels around the world as an officer of merchant ships, and then became a long-distance captain. His most famous enterprise was the victorious expedition of the Thousand that led to the annexation of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies to the nascent Kingdom of Italy, a central episode in the process of unification of the new nation.

The statue dedicated to Giuseppe Garibaldi in Chiavari.
In the centre of Chiavari, right where the straight alley crosses Corso Garibaldi, there is the monument dedicated to the "Hero of the Two Worlds" with the inscription that remembers his father who was from Chiavari:

Giuseppe Maria Garibaldi (Nice, 4 July 1807 – Caprera, 2 June 1882) was an Italian general, patriot, leader, writer, sailor and politician. A significant figure of the Risorgimento, he was one of the most celebrated historical figures of his time. He is also known as the "hero of two worlds" for his military exploits in both Europe and South America.

La vista su Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi a Chiavari.
In questa foto, realizzata con il teleobiettivo, si vede tutto Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi dalla fontana dedicata ad Elena Bono (di cui di vede lo spruzzo d’acqua) fino alla statua di Cristoforo Colombo in passeggiata.
Una delle strade carrabili principali della città rivierasca.

Garibaldi square and the Governor's Palace in Parma.
One of the most iconic squares of the splendid city of Parma is certainly Piazza Verdi with, behind the statue of the Hero of the Two Worlds, the beautiful Governor's Palace.

Having lost its original mercantile functions, the building soon became the seat of the Captain of the city and, subsequently, of the Governor, the Civil Auditor and other municipal magistrates; however, it maintained its architectural structure unchanged for centuries.

Quarto dei Mille e il monumento a Genova.
Il monumento di inizio del ventesimo secolo in memoria della partenza dei Mille guidati da garibaldi proprio sotto a questa rupe sul mar Ligure.
Mi piace l’effetto del bianco e nero dello scatto e a voi?

Il monumento ai Mille di Genova è un gruppo scultoreo in bronzo realizzato dallo scultore Eugenio Baroni dedicato alla spedizione dei Mille. Inaugurato il 5 maggio 1915, è situato a Quarto dei Mille, a pochi metri dallo scoglio da cui partì la spedizione di Garibaldi.
Il monumento è composto da un gruppo scultoreo in bronzo che poggia su un basamento di pietra serpentina proveniente dalla cave di Cogoleto.

Monumento ai Mille di Genova Quarto.
In questo punto della costa genovese che ha veramente fatto la storia d’Italia dal 1915 c’è questo bel monumento in bronzo dedicato a colui che ha guidato i Mille partendo proprio da qui: Giuseppe Garibaldi.
Più sotto, adiacente al mare, ve n’è un altro più moderno.

Luci di Natale a Chiavari.
Natale si avvicina e a Chiavari hanno già acceso le luminarie: ecco una panoramica di Corso Garibaldi e Piazza delle Carrozze visti dalla terrazza di Villa Rocca.

Le luci natalizie sono luci utilizzate per la decorazione per celebrare il Natale, spesso esposte durante il periodo natalizio tra cui l’Avvento e il Natale. L’usanza risale a quando gli alberi di Natale erano decorati con delle candele, che simboleggiavano Cristo. I primi alberi di Natale esposti pubblicamente e illuminati con luci elettriche sono diventati popolari all’inizio del XX secolo.
