A fish stall at the market in Tenerife. A view that only made you want to try all the delicacies that the sea has to offer. Almost every type of seafood: mussels, clams, prawns, lobsters, scallops, octopus, scampi, fish, crabs, oysters, razor clams… We tasted: mussels, scallops, octopus and prawns; all washed down with a fresh local white wine.

Crab and noodle soup in Vietnam. This soup, which as you can see is made with crab, I had in Ho Chi Minh. This one is in fact made with the meat of the claws cooked in a very tasty broth (perhaps thanks to the glutamate) and nice thick rice noodles. I must say that we have also tasted it in other places but there was practically no crab in it. Here instead you can see the beautiful (and enormous) claws! Very good!

Crabs in particular are equipped with a robust carapace and two powerful claws, therefore they use four pairs of limbs for movement and claws for catching, defending themselves and feeding. The abdomen is folded vertically and is therefore hidden. Many species are nocturnal, when the presence of potential predators is lower; the diet varies from species to species and includes animals, plants, carcasses. Continue and learn more on Wikipedia

Boiled crab in Vietnam. I discovered that in the Ho Chi Minh area (Saigon) one of the best dishes is crab cooked in all sorts of ways. In the place where I went to eat them, they chose them, weighed them for you and cooked them as you wished. In addition to soup and rice (in which they usually only use the claws), they also prepared them boiled. They were quite big but above all very tasty. If you were to go, look for restaurants that prepare them.

Thai shellfish for sale on the street. As I have already written in several posts, shellfish and seafood are one of the main types of food found in Thailand. There is no restaurant that does not cook or display them. These were in the basins of a stall along the road in Koh Samui and some local women were selling them. Prawns, slipper lobsters, crabs and various fish. All apparently very fresh!
