Le ceramiche di Bat Trang.
Uno dei luoghi più famosi del Vietnam per la produzione di ceramiche. A pochi chilometri dalla capitale Hanoi.
Questo era un drago (a dire la verità un draghetto) posto sulla sommità di un vaso.
Ma è solo una delle tante opere che si potevano vedere (ed ovviamente comprare) in questo paesino.

Ceramics are usually composed of different materials: clays, feldspars (sodium, potassium or both), silica sand, iron oxides, alumina and quartz. Such a complex composition determines the presence of flattened molecular structures called phyllosilicates. The shape of these, in the presence of water, gives the clay a certain plasticity and makes it easier and more profitable to work with.

Un piatto vietnamita: il Bun Cha Hanoi.
Uno dei piatti più famosi della cucina vietnamita in particolare tipico della città di Hanoi.
Io che sono molto difficile nel mangiare devo dire che ho trovato molti piatti di mio gusto in questo viaggio in Vietnam.
Ovviamente, non amando io il piccante, ho avuto qualche difficoltà ma almeno le zuppe, quasi sempre, sono preparate non piccanti e poi sei tu che aggiungi il peperoncino.
E’ il caso di questo piatto: carne di maiale grigliata con brodo di verdure (e anche molto glutammato). A parte i vermicelli (noodles di riso) ed erbe varie da aggiungere a piacere al piatto (oltre al peperoncino ovviamente).
Veramente molto gustoso!

Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam.
Colorful houses, anarchic traffic, lots of trees and ponds, street food… all in Hanoi.
These particular houses are the ones on one side of the very famous Train Street, the narrow street where you can have a coffee sitting a few centimeters from the railway tracks where (once or twice a day) a train actually passes.
In recent days, probably the one after I took this photo, they have forced these cafes to close because they are too dangerous… I am tired of seeing if the measure will have an effect and if it will be permanent.
The whole city is beautiful, in any case.

Where is the city located:

Hanoi's urban landscape is characterized by the presence of numerous lakes (such as the central Lake of the Restored Sword) as well as several religious buildings, mainly Confucian and Taoist (the Temple of Literature and the Ngoc Son Temple) but also Catholic (such as St. Joseph's Cathedral). Its old city also has a large number of Buddhist pagodas.
