The church of San Giorgio in Portofino seen from above.
Descending from the path that from San Fruttuoso di Camogli arrives in Portofino there are several points where you can enjoy a splendid view of the village of Portofino.
From one of these points I took this photo of the beautiful little church that dominates the entire marina.

According to a plaque inside the church, the building was erected in Romanesque style in 1154 although further excavations have allowed the discovery of an ancient square-plan chapel dating back perhaps to the time of the Lombards in Liguria when the monks of San Colombano operated there.

A glimpse of the village of Tellaro in the far eastern Liguria.
One of the many glimpses that the narrow and steep streets (in Genoese creuze) create in the beautiful seaside village of Tellaro, near Lerici.
Venturing into the historic center is a unique emotion.

Tellaro is the easternmost hamlet of the municipality of Lerici, in the province of La Spezia. It has been reviewed as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
The town is a small seaside village, perched on a cliff overlooking the Gulf of La Spezia. A destination for many Italian and foreign artists, Mario Soldati found a home here during the long years of his old age.

Le curve sinuose della strada del Bracco

Le curve sinuose della strada del Bracco.
Salendo verso il Monte San Nicolao si è aperta una vista sulla strada (l’Aurelia) che passa sul Passo del Bracco.
Come tutti gli amanti delle moto sapranno questa strada ha delle curve molto sinuose e qui sembra un serpente che si muove tra i boschi liguri.

La vista che si gode dal Bocco di Bargone

La vista che si gode dal Bocco di Bargone.
Percorrendo l’anello di Bargone, il sentiero che dal borgo passa dal Monte Treggin e poi dal piccolo passo chiamato Bocco di Bargone, si gode di una splendida vista su Sestri e Riva.

Walking from the Valle Christi monastery to Rapallo.
A stroll in the small park where the Valle Christi monastery (or at least its ruins) is located.
A few months ago I went, after a long time that I had been meaning to, to visit it and I was very impressed.
It exudes sacredness but also history and mystery.
I invite you to go and see it, it is very convenient by car.

There is also the official website of the festival that is celebrated there annually: vallechristi.it.

The monastery of Santa Maria in Valle Christi was a Catholic place of worship located in the hamlet of San Massimo, in via San Massimo, in the municipality of Rapallo in the metropolitan city of Genoa. The former monastic complex from the thirteenth century is included in the list of Italian national monuments; it is one of the few surviving examples of Gothic architecture in the entire Ligurian territory.

La parte finale del sentiero che da Santa Giulia scende a Lavagna.
Una delle passeggiate più belle che si possono fare nella mia zona è il sentiero che da Sestri Levante va a Lavagna passando da Santa Giulia.
Questa nella foto è la parte finale della camminata, pochi metri prima di entrare in città.

Un vicolo con archetti nel centro di Moneglia

Un vicolo con archetti nel centro di Moneglia.
Uno degli elementi architettonici che più spesso incontro nei borghi liguri, questo arco che collega due palazzi.
Molto spesso nei vicoletti tra palazzi se ne trovano diversi ma non so come si chiamano e che funzione hanno (anche se la funzione riesco ad immaginarla).
Come in questo vicolo di Moneglia.

The ancient toponym of Moneglia (ad Monilia) appears in the Tavola Peutingeriana, a copy of the military map of the Roman Empire (11th – 12th century) preserved in the Austrian National Library in Vienna, discovered by the antiquarian of Augsburg, Corrado Peutinger, in the sixteenth century.

Salendo per via Francesco Pozzo direzione Albaro, si apre una splendida vista sul centro di Genova.
E poi pensate alla vista che si deve godere il proprietario della bella torre del palazzo in primo piano!
