One of the last times I was in the town of Funchal, on the island of Madeira, by ship, I discovered this street in the old town by chance.
It is a special place where, in addition to finding many restaurants and bars, you can admire these doors (but not only those) painted in an artistic way.
The one in this photo, at number 1, represents the street itself.

La torre della cattedrale di Funchal nell’isola di Madera.
Amo fotografare le città dalla nave, quando non riesco a scendere a terra, perchè con un buon teleobiettivo si possono evidenziare particolari carini.
Come in questo caso dove ho posto l’attenzione sul campanile della cattedrale di Funchal.

Where is the cathedral located:

La cattedrale dell’Assunzione di Maria Vergine è la cattedrale cattolica di Funchal, in Portogallo, e sede della diocesi di Funchal. Si trova nel centro della città, non lontana dal porto turistico, nell’area chiamata Campo del Duca. La sua costruzione cominciò alla fine del 1400. Fu la prima chiesa importante costruita sull’isola. In precedenza c’era una chiesa vicino alla spiaggia di Calhau, ma poiché il numero degli abitanti aumentava grazie al fiorire del commercio della canna da zucchero, la chiesa non poteva più ospitare tutti i fedeli, così fu deciso di costruirne una più grande nel centro della città.
