Santa Cruz de Tenerife is a Spanish municipality of 208,688 inhabitants (2022), the main city of the island of Tenerife and the capital of the province of the same name. Together with Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, it is the capital of the autonomous community of the Canary Islands and hosts the seat of the local parliament. It is the second most populous city in the Canary Islands.

Burano is a town of 2,270 inhabitants that stands on four islands in the northern Venetian lagoon. It is part of the municipality of Venice and in particular of the municipality of Venice-Murano-Burano. It is connected by a bridge to the island of Mazzorbo, which has become a sort of appendix. The town is known for its typical brightly colored houses and for the centuries-old artisan needlework of Burano lace.

A corner of Via Nazionale in Sestri Levante.
An unusual shot of Via Nazionale: without traffic, don't you think?
In reality, I took this photo at the end of last year's lockdown when the streets were still deserted.
What can I say, you can't see much from this photo of the various activities that take place around the Tomaso Bertollo nursery school (a deputy from the late 19th century), the pink building in the center of the photo.
Many activities, when I was a child, no longer exist or have been replaced.
There was the 2A stationery shop (where the Due Gabbiani pizzeria is today, even before Mrs. Nasi) to the left of the school, there was Tommasino, the shop that sold seeds and objects for farmers to the right of the school; On the other side of the road there was the florist (where Loris' fruit and vegetable shop is today), the Thea laundrette (now closed), the newsagent's (which is still there although under new management), the small tailor's shop and the Parchi bakery; a little further up there was the Il Genuino rotisserie of the good Maria while here on the right (not in the photo) Mario's dairy.
Memories that will slowly fade from my memory too unfortunately!

The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan.
The symbol of the city of Milan is the Duomo and the Madonnina but the Galleria is also one of the most famous places.
Some time ago I had to go on an errand in the Lombard city and what better opportunity to take some photos?
This is one of the symbols of luxury shopping: famous brands of clothes and more abound in this place that has become a fundamental stop for elite tourism.
Moreover, despite being a couple of hours away by train, I must admit that I am not a great expert.
I hope to fill this gap one day.

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is a shopping arcade in Milan that, in the form of a covered pedestrian street, connects Piazza Duomo to Piazza della Scala. Due to the presence of elegant shops and clubs, since its inauguration it has been a meeting place for the Milanese bourgeoisie, so much so that it has been nicknamed the “drawing room of Milan”.

Uno scorcio del caruggio in centro a Sestri Levante.
Ancora una bella foto del carrugio di Sestri Levante con la torre di palazzo Fascie Rossi sulla sfondo.
Sulla sinistra l’ingresso secondario del giardino del Grande Albergo e sulla destra la storica edicola.
Poco più avanti sulla destra c’era il negozio di mio zio pittore che ormai da qualche anno è stato rimpiazzato da un ristorantino che fa pesce fresco e ostriche in estate. Continuando sulla destra la vetrina della Boutique Zia Luisa e quella della pasticceria Rossignotti.

Gioielli di corallo rosso: in mostra a Taipei in Taiwan.
Salendo, e scendendo, sul 101 di Taiwan si attraversano molti negozi di gioielli e quelli in corallo rosso erano veramente eccezionali. Alcuni credo nemmeno in vendita perché talmente grandi (ed immagino costosi) che pochi al mondo potrebbero permetterseli. Da notare le minuzie dei particolari, un lavoro eccezionale. Ho diverse foto che inserirò gradualmente.
