Tornato da Taiwan ho portato un piccolo regalino per mia mamma, un soprammobile con due piccole pesche portafortuna. In oro… ma attenzione non sono piene ed il loro peso è minimo però sono proprio carine.

The reclining Buddha in Bangkok.
One of the most famous attractions in Bangkok is definitely the reclining Buddha. Obviously I couldn't miss seeing it and photographing it. Despite its grandeur, and the fact that it is covered in gold, it is the details that are most impressive: the hair (which I will write a separate post about), and the feet (and toes). Equally famous is the path of bowls, behind the statue, in which you have to insert a coin without missing any to have good luck.

Wat Pho is a Buddhist temple complex located in the Phra Nakhon District of central Bangkok, Thailand. It is located in the immediate vicinity of the Grand Palace. La cattedrale di Zagabria è una cattedrale cattolica di Zagabria, in Croazia. Dedicata all’Assunzione di Maria ed ai due re Stefano I e Ladislao I, la chiesa rappresenta l’edificio di culto più alto del paese. Costruita originariamente in epoca medievale, la cattedrale custodisce un tesoro d’inestimabile valore con oggetti risalenti dall’XI al XIX secolo. In essa riposano le spoglie di numerosi protagonisti della storia croata.

One of the most famous bridges in Paris is the Alexander III, at whose four corners there are four statues covered in gold.
This one in particular is the Statue of Agriculture.

The imposing construction, intended to celebrate the alliance between Tsar Alexander III of Russia and French President Marie François Sadi Carnot, is in Art Nouveau style and is richly decorated. On the four pillars are representations of medieval France, the Renaissance, the absolutist one of the Sun King and finally the modern one.
