Where is the arch located:

Composed by Rouget de Lisle in 1792, it is part of the process of affirmation of the idea of nation, it represents one of the first (for some the first) examples of a modern national anthem and has established itself as a model for republican ones, in contrast to the slightly earlier anthem of the British monarchy God Save the King. As a bearer of democratic ideals and textually subversive, it was banned in absolute monarchies and replaced in Napoleonic France, the Restoration and the Second Empire.

Detail of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.
I don't think the Arc de Triomphe in Paris needs many words.
I therefore tried to photograph some details of the monument.
In the photo, for example, one of the four sculptures that adorn it: the triumph of 1810 with Napoleon being crowned by Victory.

Here's where the arch is located:

The Arc de Triomphe is inspired by the Arch of Titus in the Roman Forum in Rome. The monument is 50 meters high, 45 meters wide and 22 meters deep, making it the second largest triumphal arch, after the one built in North Korea in 1982 to mark Kim Il Sung’s seventieth birthday. The interior walls of the arch display the names of 660 French generals; some of these names are underlined to indicate that they died in battle.

The imposing construction, intended to celebrate the alliance between Tsar Alexander III of Russia and French President Marie François Sadi Carnot, is in Art Nouveau style and is richly decorated. On the four pillars are representations of medieval France, the Renaissance, the absolutist one of the Sun King and finally the modern one.
