Located in one of the most charming areas of Genoa, Hotel Marinella is a jewel overlooking the historic Passeggiata Anita Garibaldi in Nervi. This hotel was not just a place to stay, but an experience that combines history, elegance and modern comfort.
Hotel Marinella has a rich and fascinating history. Opened in 1913 as an art deco chalet-restaurant, it was rebuilt in 1934 in rationalist style by architect Giacomo Carlo Nicoli. The structure, which recalls the shape of a ship, hosted memorable events and illustrious people, becoming a point of reference for the social and cultural life of Genoa.
Marinella offered a unique experience to its guests. With elegant rooms, some of which were suites with sea views, the hotel was the ideal place for those seeking a luxury stay. The structure also included a wellness area, a refined restaurant and a lounge bar, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the breathtaking view of the sea.
After years of closure and abandonment, the Marinella has returned to shine thanks to an ambitious redevelopment project. The consortium ‘La Marinella 1934’ has worked tirelessly to restore the hotel to its former glory, despite the difficulties encountered along the way, including adverse weather events, the pandemic and several other setbacks.
The reopening of the bar in 2023 was not followed by the restaurant and only a few months later it closed again.
Whether you are in Genoa for a holiday or for work, a visit and a photo at the Hotel Marinella on the Nervi promenade is a shot not to be missed.

On January 1, 2024, the bar and restaurant opened, pending the opening of the sauna and hotel. Last year I thought about taking a trip to the Cinque Terre to walk a couple of paths. Unfortunately one of my favorites was closed (the one that goes from Monterosso to Vernazza passing by the sea) and I only discovered it when I got there.
I only discovered later that on the park website there is a very up-to-date section (here) that tells you in real time if a path is not passable.
We therefore opted for a path, perhaps a little more challenging but equally spectacular: Monterosso, Madonna di Soviore, Santuario di Reggio, Vernazza.
The photos that I am publishing in this post are of the last stretch, downhill and very beautiful, that goes down to Vernazza.

One of the places in my area (Eastern Liguria) that I like to go to in the summer to have a nice swim is Framura.
The tiny village near the Cinque Terre has a splendid promenade, overlooking the sea, along which you can reach a couple of truly enchanting beaches.
And if you are an adventure lover, here and there along the promenade, there are points where you can go down to the sea and dive into this truly crystalline water!

One of the historic establishments in Sestri Levante, opened in 1946, is definitely the Tritone.
In this case, however, my attention was more on the building that houses it and less on the activity.
In my opinion, but I accept denials given my complete inexperience, I believe it is in the fascist style given the rounded shapes.

The village of Sori overlooks the sea of the Golfo Paradiso, east of Genoa, in the Riviera di Levante, and the municipal territory extends inland along the valley of the homonymous stream until it reaches the watershed with the upper Fontanabuona valley, reaching the hamlet of Pannesi in the municipality of Lumarzo. La bella passeggiata a mare di Zoagli

La bella passeggiata a mare di Zoagli, bel borgo in Liguria.
Una delle passeggiate a mare più belle del Golfo del Tigullio è sicuramente quella di Zoagli.
Dalla spiaggia centrale si può passeggiare, a Levante o a Ponente per qualche centinaio di metri, a pochi metri dal mare.
Qua e là si trova qualche piccola insenatura e spiaggetta di ciottoli dove si può fare il bagno.
Uno dei percorsi (assieme alla passeggiata di Framura, che però non è nel Tigullio) da non perdere nel Levante Ligure.
