Benedetto Brin (Turin, 17 May 1833 – Rome, 24 May 1898) was an Italian engineer, admiral and politician. Having entered service in the Sardinian Navy in 1853 as an officer of the Naval Engineering Corps, in 1864 he published an article in which he demonstrated the inevitability of the transition to armoured ships, thus finding himself on the same line as Simone Pacoret de Saint-Bon.

Le case a Pietra Calante a Sestri Levante.
Come si arriva a Sestri Levante dall’Aurelia, provenendo da Lavagna, queste sono le prime case che si incontrano (anche se le prime prime sono quelle appartenenti alla dependance di Villa Sertorio prima del semaforo).
Si affacciano sulla passeggiata ed immagino che la vista del mare si stupenda da quelle finestre.
I colori sono poi quelli tipici delle case marinare liguri.

The boathouses along the Nervi promenade.
Genoa Nervi is one of the districts of the Ligurian capital that more than any other has maintained its dimension of a real village.
Its small port (I have already posted some photos of this previously) but also the splendid seafront promenade, dedicated and named after Anita Garibaldi.
Along it in fact you can still see an old storage for fishermen's boats that at the moment, I believe, is no longer used for boats but perhaps for warehouses or in any case to attract the targets of travellers like me.

Ciottoli, o risseu, in passeggiata a Sestri Levante.
Oltre che di fronte alle chiese i ciottoli venivano usati anche per decorare strade e passaggi pedonali.
In questo caso, ad esempio, potete vedere come i ciottoli sono stati usati per decorare questi spiazzi.
In una foto si vede bene un’ancora mentre nell’altra non capisco bene quale sia il soggetto dell’opera: forse due pesci o due occhi.
Resta comunque la bellezza di questa decorazione eseguita da alcuni maestri utilizzando i sassolini del mare a contrasto tra quelli bianchi e quelli neri.
Se cercate nel sito dovrei avere altre foto di questo tipo di pavimentazione perché in Liguria molto spesso viene usata per decorare i sagrati delle chiese.
