Greek Grilled Octopus

Grilled octopus Greek style.
Going to Greece, in this case Santorini, and not eating a plate of grilled octopus is almost a crime.
A few days ago, in fact, finding myself with the ship on the just mentioned Greek island, I took advantage of it and ate this beautiful plate of grilled octopus.
I must say that it is one of the most beautiful photos I have ever posted on this site, together with the other photo of polpo but Galician style.
Simple and very tasty (and very expensive!), placed on top of a few lettuce leaves.

La focaccia al formaggio più buona è sicuramente a Recco (dove la focaccia col formaggio è persino una dop famosa in tutto il mondo) ma in molte pizzerie, specialmente in Riviera, se ne possono trovare di altrettanto buone.

Focaccia alle cipolle.
Una delle varianti più classica del tipico “pane salato” genovese è la focaccia con le cipolle.
Sicuramente è la variante più famosa della focaccia all’olio genovese.
Questa fetta (mi scuso se la foto non è eccezionale) è stata fotografata a Sestri Levante dal buon panificio Luca 2.

It can be eaten for breakfast, as a “fast breaker” in the morning or as an aperitif-appetizer. It is traditionally accompanied with a small glass of white wine (or gianchetto in Ligurian). It is customary (not typically Genoese) to dip the focaccia in cappuccino or milk for breakfast.

Excellent fresh ravioli from a pasta factory in Sestri.
Not everyone has the time, patience and talent to make fresh ravioli at home. In my house they are made for Christmas and Easter (and only in a few other exceptional cases). The rest of the time, vegetable ravioli (lean) are bought already made (more or less artisanal) in local pasta factories.
These are the ones prepared by Pastificio Moderno in Sestri Levante.

In addition to focaccia all’olio, one of my favorite subjects to photograph is Genoese pesto, especially if it’s the one my mother makes at home.
Gnocchi, on the other hand, are bought. We still find them practically fresh prepared in one of the many “fresh pasta” shops abundant in Liguria.
Although every now and then the good Loris prepares them fresh for us.
I also really liked the photo, don’t you think it’s very beautiful too?

The most popular ones in Italy today are prepared with potatoes, also very popular are those prepared with a simple dough of water and flour. Those prepared with semolina are nicknamed alla romana; others still use corn flour; in addition, various other ingredients are used based on local/regional tradition.

Uno dei cibi più buoni della mia Liguria è la focaccia all’olio.
Non a caso ci sono già diverse foto di questa prelibatezza.

Questa volta è la focaccia di uno dei panifici “storici” di Sestri Levante: Vassallo (che purtroppo non ha un sito, una pagina Fb o TripAdvisor). Quante serate della mia giovinezza iniziate in Piscina dei Castelli sono finite davanti ad un pezzo di focaccia appena uscita dal forno.

Another typical Spanish dish is octopus a la gallega (that is, Galician style).
I have to say that it is really good.
In this dish, however, there were no classic boiled potatoes that normally host the octopus.
