Here's where the town is located:

Borgo Rotondo in the historic center of Varese. Commissioned by the Fieschi family for the control and defense of the Varese territory, it is made up of identical stone houses arranged along the perimeter which, with an elliptical shape, enclose the two main squares (Piazza Fieschi and Piazza Castello), where the commercial activities, warehouses and laboratories were located in the underlying porticoes.

A glimpse of Tellaro, a splendid seaside village in Liguria.
One of the Ligurian seaside villages with the most creuze and alleys that I can remember visiting.
In the province of La Spezia and perched on a small promontory overlooking the sea, it has a small labyrinth of stairs, arches and alleys in which it is wonderful to get lost.

Tellaro is the easternmost hamlet of the municipality of Lerici, in the province of La Spezia. It has been reviewed as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
The town is a small seaside village, perched on a cliff overlooking the Gulf of La Spezia. A destination for many Italian and foreign artists, Mario Soldati found a home here during the long years of his old age.

Questo e’ uno dei tanti vicoli o caruggi del centro.

Between the 7th and 8th centuries, following the conquest of Liguria by the Lombards, the Columban monks of Bobbio, who followed the rule of Saint Columbanus and continued their work of evangelization, built a monastery that over time grew to become a religious and economic nerve center. The birth of Brugnato is therefore linked to the foundation of the abbey which, like other monastic sites in Liguria and northern Italy, depended on the abbey of San Colombano di Bobbio.

La bella Torre del Borgo nel centro di Lavagna in Liguria.
Sarò stato decine di volte a Lavagna ma solo recentemente ho scoperto che nel suo centro c’è un giardino (un poco nascosto) che ospita questa bella torre.
La torre, che per anni è stata l’edificio più alto della cittadina, è stata ristrutturata alcuni anni fa ed ora è in splendide condizioni.

Here's where the tower is located:

Secondo alcune fonti la sua edificazione, forse ad opera della famiglia nobiliare dei Fieschi, risale al XVI secolo come torre di avvistamento o di difesa. Dopo vari secoli in servizio per il borgo, dove fu persino adibita ad abitazione con cappella gentilizia, è ora sede della “Galleria artistica dell’ardesia” e della “Collezione Alloiso”.

Lo stemma di Sestri, la mia cittadina, sul muretto in pietra che fa da balcone sulla piazza del Municipio.

Un’isola rocciosa con due torri merlate in campo azzurro, è sormontato dalla corona civica di Comune ed è accompagnato da rami di quercia e di ulivo. Di colore azzurro, contornato in oro, recante al centro lo stemma comunale.

Anche Wiki si rifà al sito araldicacivica.it per il simbolo della cittadina.

Devo ammettere che l’ultima volta che sono stato a Varese Ligure per fare una gitarella (e ormai sono passati diversi mesi) ho fatto incetta di foto splendide da pubblicare qui sul mio sito.
Come questo splendido scorcio, della parte di Levante del borgo.

Un muro in via Val di Canepa

Un muro in via Val di Canepa

Un muro in via Val di Canepa.
Questo muro, che a me sembra particolare, si trova in via val di Canepa a Sestri Levante ma ne ho visti altri in giro per la mia cittadina.
Sono particolari perché fino ai due metri d’altezza (circa) sono normali muri di pietre e cemento (o malta dipende da quanto è datato) mentre nella parte oltre i due metri ci sono delle lastre di ardesia incastonate su colonne (facenti parte del muro).
Probabilmente era una maniera per rendere il tutto più alto senza dover erigere un muro pieno di tre metri ma mi farebbe piacere saperne di più se la mia ipotesi non è quella corretta.

Il simbolo della cittadina di Santa Maria è sicuramente il ponte dei Priori.
Ponte medioevale in pietra che supera il fiume Taro, che spesso è molto violento.

Il ponte dei Priori è un ponte in pietra sul fiume Taro costruito nella località di Santa Maria. Di origini medioevali consta di due arcate in pietra e di un pilone centrale rinforzato con bastioni a forma di triangolo. È situato appena a monte della confluenza nel fiume Taro del suo primo affluente: il torrente Tarola.

Il famoso portico di Borgio Verezzi.
Uno dei punti più famosi dello splendido borgo di Borgio Verezzi, nel savonese, è questo bel portico in pietra che si affaccia su tutto il Ponente ligure.
Nel momento in cui ho scattato c’era proprio il sole contro per cui non sono riuscito a scattate e a farvi vedere lo splendido panorama che si gode da lì con il mare come protagonista.

The municipal territory is made up of the two hamlets of Borgio (municipal seat) and Verezzi and the Verezzi nuclei of Crosa, Piazza, Poggio and Roccaro for a territorial surface of 2.73 km².
It borders to the north with the municipalities of Tovo San Giacomo and Finale Ligure, to the south with the Ligurian Sea, to the west with Pietra Ligure, to the east with Finale Ligure.
