This was a great margherita pizza with buffalo mozzarella and DOP tomatoes…. a grannìzzi ’i Dìu!

A widespread belief has it that in June 1889, to honor the Queen of Italy, Margherita di Savoia, the chef Raffaele Esposito of Pizzeria Brandi invented a dish that he called pizza-Margherita (with reference to the fact that the term “pizza”, then unknown outside the city of Naples, almost always indicated sweet pies), where the savoury toppings that he got his hands on, tomato, mozzarella and basil, even represented the same colours as the Italian flag.

Pizza napoletana: la migliore se mangiata a Napoli.
Era diverso tempo che non andavo a Napoli con la nave ed ancora molto di più che non riuscivo a mangiare una buona pizza napoletana.
Non me ne vogliano i miei amici pizzaioli ma a Napoli è un’altra cosa. Poi, posso ammettere che in certe pizzerie sia altrettanto buona, ma è una cosa quasi differente.

Questa era una semplicissima margherita mangiata in una altrettanto semplice trattoria/pizzeria proprio di fronte al terminal crociere della città Partenopea.

Ma ovunque si possa mangiare una pizza a Napoli, andate sempre sul sicuro perché è buona in ogni posto scegliate.
