The beautiful Sestri Levante seen from the heights of Sant’Anna. The Rocche di Sant’Anna (those ruins along the path that passes above the tunnels of the same name that connect the town with the municipality of Lavagna) are a privileged point to see, and photograph, my beautiful Sestri Levante. Relatively easy to reach, maximum fifteen minutes on foot, it offers an exceptional view especially at sunset (even if this photo was not taken at that time).

The bridges of the Fico Valley in Sestri Levante. To climb to the Rocche di Sant’Anna, the remains of the church above the road and railway tunnels that connect Sestri to Lavagna, there are two roads: a more direct and steep one dug into the rock and the other older and lighter one that uses five medieval (but probably Roman) bridges recently renovated. You can see a couple of them in the photo.

Sestri Levante seen from the Rocche di Sant’Anna. Among the most beautiful panoramic points to photograph my town there is certainly the path that leads to the Rocche di Sant’Anna passing through the Fico valley. From here in fact the view of the Baia delle Favole is truly splendid, especially when we are approaching sunset time.

Lavagna e Chiavari da Sant’Anna. Quando si sale fino alle Rocche di Sant’Anna, lungo la antica via Aurelia che passava sopra alle attuali gallerie stradali, si gode di una splendida vista sia su Sestri Levante a Levante sia su Lavagna e Chiavari a Ponente. Con il mio teleobiettivo, in una giornata non molto afosa, è uscito anche uno scatto decente nel quale, nonostante la prospettiva sia rimasta un pochino schiacciata, si vede bene il porto di Lavagna e la Colonia Fara.

When you climb up to the Rocche di Sant’Anna, along the ancient Via Aurelia that passed over the current road tunnels, you can enjoy a splendid view of both Sestri Levante in the Levante and Lavagna and Chiavari in the Ponente. With my telephoto lens, on a not very sultry day, a decent shot came out in which, despite the perspective being a little squashed, you can clearly see the port of Lavagna and the Colonia Fara.

Chiunque sia stato a camminare lungo il sentiero che porta alle Rocche di Sant’Anna a Sestri levante ha scattato le classiche foto alla Baia delle Favole e all’Isola. Ma dall’altro lato, a Ponente, si possono vedere anche dei bei panorami e qualche scoglio che normalmente non si riesce a fotografare.

Sestri dalle Rocche di Sant’Anna. Ho scattato queste due foto ormai qualche mese fa ma credo siano molto belle. A dire la verità sono state realizzate un po’ prima dell Rocche, nel primo terrazzino che si incontra salendo lungo l’antica strada romana. Danno proprio il senso della pace dei primi giorni di caldo e di mare (era il 2 giugno).

The sea under the tunnels of Sestri Levante. It is not one of the most popular beaches in my town but with water like this it really makes you want to take a dip.

Sestri Levante vista dalle Rocche di Sant’Anna. Anche se in questi giorni non si può ancora essere liberi di andare dove si voglia è stata liberata almeno la possibilità di passeggiare per i sentieri. Qui a Sestri Levante, senza dover nemmeno uscire dal comune, ce ne sono diversi. I più spettacolari sono quelli lungo la costa e principalmente sono tre (in ordine da Ovest verso Est): – le Rocche di Sant’Anna: da Cavi Borgo a Petra Calante – la Mandrella e Punta Manara: dal centro di Sestri fino a San Bartolomeo della Ginestra – Punta Baffe: da Riva Trigoso a Moneglia
Ce ne sono anche molti da scoprire dietro la linea della costa e penso a Loto, San Bernardo, la Selva, Libiola, Villa Tassani ma non ne sono un conoscitore.
Vabbè forse ho divagato troppo. Questi sono gli scatti che ho realizzato ieri lungo il sentiero che va alle Rocche di Sant’Anna.
