L’insegna dell’hotel San Pietro a Sestri Levante. Da più di sessant’anni, a pochi metri dalla Baia delle Favole, si trova questo piccolo albergo ristorante. Passando, mi è venuta l’ispirazione per fotografarne l’insegna. Il nome prende ispirazione dalla chiesa che vi sta proprio alle spalle: San Pietro in Vincoli.

La celebre piazza San Pietro nella città del Vaticano a Roma. Uno dei monumenti che non si può mancare di visitare nella Città Eterna è sicuramente Piazza San Pietro, simbolo della cristianità nel mondo. Non mi ricordavo che ci fossero tanti turisti in visita… e pensare che l’ultima volta che c’ero stato ero persino salito in cima alla cupola e non ricordo di aver aspettato in fila così tanto.

La celeberrima piazza, notevole esempio di architettura ed urbanistica barocca, è dedicata all’omonimo santo ed è quotidiano punto d’incontro per migliaia di fedeli cattolici provenienti da tutto il mondo. Lo spazio della piazza è formato da due parti: la prima a forma di trapezio rovescio il cui lato maggiore corrisponde alla facciata con specifiche motivazioni prospettiche (annullare la grande distanza tra la piazza e la basilica) e la seconda, più grande, di forma ovale con l’obelisco Egiziano al centro. The interior of the Church of San Pietro in Banchi in Genoa. I have passed through Piazza Banchi several times and have already photographed the church from the outside several times (and if I am not mistaken there are at least two posts with the church and the square). The last time I passed by the door and the gate were open and, for the first time, I managed to enter and I was impressed by this little church, small but very well-kept and with a truly predominant white color in the interior. As you can see in the altar, in the apse and in the ceiling.

La quadrifora più famosa di Liguria. Una delle foto più gettonate in Liguria è questa: quattro archetti e tre colonne. I più avranno già capito dove ci troviamo: ebbene siamo nella Chiesa di San Pietro a Portovenere in Liguria. Da quelle finestrelle si vede tutta la costa ligure fino alle Cinque Terre e anche più in là.

The Church of San Pietro, symbol of the village of Portovenere. One of the symbols of Portovenere is this religious complex that stands out on the sea and on the Palmaria Island. Imposing and very suggestive. The most photographed part is certainly that small portico made with those four windows (quadrifora) at the bottom right.

Scorcio di Sestri Levante. Uno splendido scorcio nei piccoli vicoli che sono appena dietro la Baia del Silenzio. Il campanile della antica chiesa di San Pietro in Vincoli sulla sfondo di questa immagine.
Sita nel cuore dell’antico borgo sestrese, fu costruita dai Padri Cappuccini nel 1640 con l’annessa struttura conventuale. La nuova urbanizzazione di Sestri Levante negli anni successivi, che non permetteva più ai frati un corretto isolamento dalla popolazione, fece sì che questi ultimi preferirono trasferirsi in un’altra località, vendendo, nel 1686, la struttura ai Preti Secolari di San Pietro in Vincoli. Nell’accordo stipulato con i Secolari si sancì che ogni bene materiale, quali opere d’arte e suppellettili, dovesse rimanere di proprietà dei Cappuccini. Continue on Wikipedia.
Via Della Libertà a Riva Trigoso. Passeggiando per la parte di Levante della frazione senstrese di Riva Trigoso. Sullo sfondo la parrocchia di San Pietro, alle spalle piazza Brigate Partigiane alle spalle e il mare sulla destra. Anche se vengo poco a passeggiare qui, lo scorso anno mi ero armato di macchina fotografica e avevo scattato molte foto a spasso per le stradine di Levante.

Chiesa di San Pietro a Riva Trigoso. Passeggiando a Levante della frazione sestrese di Riva troviamo il sagrato e la chiesa di S. Pietro. Il sagrato della chiesa, come potete vedere, e’ nel classico ciottolato ligure; un tipo di decorazione, chiamata risseu, creata unendo dei sassolini tondeggianti presi dalle spiagge oppure dai torrenti locali, bianchi e neri, in modo da formare geometrie e disegni.

A nice grilled John Dory A great fish to grill and, in the case of the photo, very well prepared. Even the skin was something exceptional. We were in a restaurant in Palma de Mallorca and it was really excellent.

The livery has a whitish, greyish or yellowish background colour, streaked with beige and brown. The belly is white. In the centre of the body there is a large rounded black ocellus, edged with light. The dorsal rays are white and brown, the ventral ones are grey-brown. The other fins are transparent.
