Spanish croquetas tasted in Tenerife. There are two things that I really love to eat when I'm in Spain and I always try to order them: jamon serrano and croquetas. In Santa Cruz de Tenerife I found this place, just outside the center, where they were really good and the right size for my appetite!

The Monument dedicated to the Chicharrero in Tenerife. I was once in Tenerife at the Mercado Ntra. Señora de África, not far from the port, and while we were returning to the main street I photographed this monument depicting fishermen hoisting a boat. Then searching online for more information I discovered that the monument is dedicated to the Chicharrero, that is, the typical inhabitants of Santa Cruz (later extended to all the inhabitants of Tenerife). It derives from the name of a low-value fish, the chicharro, but I don't think it is used in a negative way.

The Lechera Canaria statue in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. In Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the statues of women with packages on their heads are a tribute to the lecheres, the milkmaids who once carried milk to homes on their heads¹. These statues commemorate the hard work and dedication of these women, who were an essential part of everyday life in Tenerife in centuries past¹. These historical figures are celebrated through street art to remember the traditions and cultural heritage of the island. Walking around the city, you can find many other statues and monuments that tell similar stories, making Santa Cruz a true open-air museum².
The one in the photo is located in San Domenico square in front of the fountain of the same name (fuente de Santo Domingo).

The tower of the facade of the market of Tenerife. For the first time since I have been sailing, last year I went to the market of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. As in almost all Spanish markets, in addition to being able to buy local products, you can also eat. With some colleagues we then took a seat in one of the many fishmongers that cook fresh fish and seafood for you that you choose directly from the counter. Exceptional!

Veramente ottimi!
