Lo scoglio chiamato Punta Chiappa in Liguria. Qualche tempo fa, percorrendo l’Aurelia in motorino, mi sono fermato a San Rocco di Camogli e, percorrendo brevemente il sentiero che arriva fino a San Fruttuoso, ho scattato questo paio di foto al famoso scoglio che delimita a Levante il Golfo Paradiso.

Punta Chiappa è una propaggine di roccia, formazione di puddinga protesa verso il mare aperto per una cinquantina di metri, delimitando dal lato di ponente la riserva marina di Portofino e chiudendo ad est il Golfo Paradiso. Lo scoglio del Cigno con Lavagna sullo sfondo. Andando verso Lavagna, appena dopo le gallerie di Sant’Anna, c’è questo scoglio imponente. Lo so: io nel titolo l’ho chiamato impropriamente del Cigno (perchè i Bagni Cigno sono poco più avanti) ma non ho trovato nessun altro riferimento a come si possa chiamare. La foto, l’ho scattata dalla passeggiata a mare di Sestri, utilizzando il teleobiettivo. E mi scuso per la seconda che è un poco mossa.

The rock called Scalo Demola in Pieve Ligure Every time I traveled along the Via Aurelia on my way back from Genoa last summer, I stopped for a moment at this panoramic point just before Pieve Ligure. On one side of this little cove there is this rock with a terrace full of people sunbathing and some, the younger ones, diving into the sea from the rocks. I only discovered while looking for information for this post that that point is called Scalo Demola and is one of the few points in that town to reach the sea.

Pieve Ligure is an Italian municipality of 2404 inhabitants in the metropolitan city of Genoa in Liguria. It is located on the eastern border of the municipality of Bogliasco and west of Sori; to the south it is bathed by the Ligurian Sea, while the territory to the north is uninhabited, leaving space for the peaks of the coastal mountain range. The town is structured on streets and ancient crêuze that extend along the slopes of Monte Santa Croce (518 m above sea level), with olive trees, maritime pine and mimosa making up a good part of the flora of the territory. La spiaggia di Renà con lo scoglio dell’Asseu a Riva Trigoso. Una spiaggetta molto carina all’estremo Levante del comune di Sestri Levante appena prima delle gallerie per andare a Moneglia. Sabbia e ciotoli (più si va a Levante e più grosse sono le pietre), lettini ed ombrelloni se volete, ed un baretto molto carino in cui fare un ottimo aperitivo!

The isolated rock of Fegina in Monterosso al Mare One of the classic photos taken in Monterosso is that of the isolated rock that dominates the main beach of the first of the Cinque Terre. When you arrive in the village, usually from the train station, you appear right in front of the beach and, on the left, the majestic rock appears. This photo, taken several months ago, is the classic one with the umbrellas assaulted by tourists!

Il Convento dell’Annunziata di Sestri Levante visto dalla Ciappa du Lu. Quando ero stato alla Ciappa du Lu (l’enorme scoglio piatto tra Sestri e Riva) avevo scattato una miriade di foto della mia cittadina e della Baia del Silenzio sapendo che era un punto di vista per me difficile da ripetere. In questo scatto, per esempio, si vede molto bene l’Ex Convento dell’Annunziata (l’edificio all’inizio della baia) e le case alle sue spalle.

The rock of the Asseu in Renà One of the largest rocks on the coast of my municipality is certainly this one. It is located just below the tunnels that divide Sestri Levante from Moneglia and from here the beautiful and wide beach (of sand and pebbles) of Renà starts. Until last year there was a small concrete pier connecting it to the shore which was recently demolished to allow the direction of the tide to flow. I took the photo from far away: from the path that leads to Punta Manara with my nice 16-300 telephoto lens.

La Baia del Silenzio vista dalla Ciappa du Lu’. Qualche mese fa sono stato al famoso scoglio che si raggiunge dal sentiero di Punta Manara e che si chiama la Ciappa du Lu’. Da quel punto, con un teleobiettivo adeguato, di vede la Baia del Silenzio da una prospettiva veramente insolita, non è vero?

Lo scoglio di Monterosso alle Cinque Terre. Se si fa una piccola gita alle Cinque Terre non si può non scattare una foto al famoso scoglio che delimita la spiaggia di Ponente del borgo di Monterosso. Qui poi era tardo pomeriggio e le luci aiutavano ad aumentare la bellezza dello scatto.

Il famoso scoglio chiamato la Ciappa du Lu a Sestri Levante. Finally last autumn I managed to reach what is probably the most famous rock in Sestri Levante. It is located almost below Punta Manara and can be reached by boat or by deviating from the Mandrella path. A steep and rugged but not difficult descent of about half an hour and you arrive at this magical place. Do you have the right shoes? I recommend not trying the descent in flip-flops.
