Uno dei simboli di Sestri Levante.
Ogni tanto qualche visitatore commenta chiedendomi perchè metto così tante foto della Baia del Silenzio e che ci sono anche altre cose a Sestri.
Sono d’accordo ma non mi stancherò mai di fotografare (e condividere) la bellezza delle case che si affacciano sulla piccola baia. In special modo in inverno (la foto è di febbraio 2024)!

Questa mattina, dopo diverso tempo, sono passata a fare un passo in Baia del Silenzio ed ho scattato qualche foto per mio marito.
La spiaggia era veramente piena di gente come potete vedere!

L'archivolto di via Garibaldi a Sestri Levante

L’archivolto di via Garibaldi a Sestri Levante.
Uno dei punti del centro storico di Sestri Levante che amo fotografare è questo bell’archivolto che so trova nella piccola via che collega vico Lombardo a piazza Matteotti.
Come mi hanno scritto diversi visitatori in un altro post (here) il vicolo era anche detto “caruggiu de l’ou” (vicolo dell’oro) dal momento che lì c’erano i magazzini del manganese (provenienti dalla miniera di Libiola) da cui venivano imbarcati sulle navi per l’Inghilterra.

Il filare di pini nel Parco Mandela a Sestri Levante

Il filare di pini nel Parco Mandela a Sestri Levante.
Tutte le volte che attraverso il parco, che si trova proprio tra casa mia ed il centro di Sestri, adoro osservare questo bel filare di pini (che non sono sicuro se siano marittimi o di Aleppo).
Originariamente erano posti al lato della via Aurelia e facevano da separazione con lo stabilimento della FIT Ferrotubi. E’ stata una ottima idea mantenerli per il parco.

Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela (Mvezo, 18 luglio 1918 – Johannesburg, 5 dicembre 2013) è stato un politico e attivista sudafricano, presidente del Sudafrica dal 1994 al 1999. Antagonista, con il predecessore Frederik de Klerk, dell’apartheid e insieme a questi insignito del premio Nobel per la pace nel 1993, Mandela fu il primo presidente sudafricano non bianco a ricoprire tale carica; attivista per i diritti civili e avvocato, aveva scontato 27 anni di carcere per la sua lotta al segregazionismo razziale.

The final part of the caruggio of Sestri Levante.
The final part of via XXV Aprile, the caruggio for everyone, the one towards the church of Santa Maria di Nazareth.
Colorful houses, outdoor seating of restaurants and taverns.
There were few people also because it was a gloomy morning in early February (2024).

Una casa che domina via della Chiusa a Sestri Levante

Una casa che domina via della Chiusa a Sestri Levante.
Tutte le volte che parcheggio la macchina in zona ITIS per raggiungere il centro passo di fronte a questo punto, in via della Chiusa, dove c’è questa casa rustica che domina la piccola collina che nasce da lì.
In un momento dell’anno i prati sottostanti alla casa si riempiono di papaveri rossi ed è uno scorcio bellissimo.

Qualche immagine decisamente “vecchia” che ancora avevo scattato nel 2020 ma che non avevo mai pubblicato.
In quel periodo stavo provando diversi effetti con la, allora, nuova macchina fotografica: l’effetto miniatura (dove solo la fascia centrale della foto è a fuoco) e la long exposure (utilizzare un filtro ND e lasciare aperto lo scatto per qualche secondo).

The snow-capped Maritime Alps seen from Sestri Levante.
On particularly clear and cold days (I have had this photo in my archive for a long time and I really don't think the day I'm posting it was that cold) from my Sestri Levante you can see the Maritime Alps, those on the border between Italy and France, very well.
Obviously to photograph them you need a good telephoto lens!

The Maritime Alps are a section of the Alpine chain located in the Western Alps. According to the Partition of the Alps, they are the Alpine section that extends between the Tenda pass and the Cadibona pass. According to the SOIUSA, however, they constitute a subsection included in the section "Maritime Alps and Prealps of Nice" and extend from the Tenda pass to the Maddalena pass.

La via chiamata della Chiusa a Sestri Levante

Via della Chiusa a Sestri Levante.
E’ la strada pedonale che unisce piazza del Mercato (la piazza con il parcheggio più grande del centro) con il caruggio.
Una via di passaggio che però ospita una delle case più fotografate di Sestri: la Casa delle Viti.
La potete vedere nella foto (anche se non ne è il soggetto) subito in primo piano sulla destra.
