Galician octopus, a spicy Spanish specialty.
An excellent dish and a photo, I think, equally excellent: Galician octopus enjoyed in the covered market halfway down the Rambla in Barcelona. First time I've been there and first time I've tasted octopus prepared in this way.

The common octopus (Octopus vulgaris Cuvier, 1797) or octopus is a cephalopod of the Octopodidae family, which should not be confused with the polyp which is instead, for example, the animal (belonging to the Cnidaria) that gives rise to coral.

Gli anelli di calamari cotti nel loro inchiostro.
La prima volta che mi sono trovato di fronte a questo piatto: anelli di calamari cotti nel loro inchiostro e cucinati alla griglia.
Ottimi e molto particolari anche da vedere e fotografare.
Li abbiamo gustati in uno splendido ristorante a Palma di Maiorca.

Polpo alla gallega o galiziana, un piatto tipico spagnolo.
Un altro dei piatti tipici della Spagna è il polpo alla gallega (cioè alla galiziana).
Devo dire che è proprio buono.
In questo piatto però non c’erano le classiche patate lesse che normalmente ospitano il polpo.
