One of the most iconic squares of the splendid city of Parma is certainly Piazza Verdi with, behind the statue of the Hero of the Two Worlds, the beautiful Governor's Palace.

Having lost its original mercantile functions, the building soon became the seat of the Captain of the city and, subsequently, of the Governor, the Civil Auditor and other municipal magistrates; however, it maintained its architectural structure unchanged for centuries.
