Some time ago I visited Naples and among all the beauties that the city offers I would like to highlight one, today, represented by the monastic complex of San Gregorio Armeno, right in the historic center.
This is the view of the ceiling of the monastery church.

The church of San Gregorio Armeno (also popularly known as the church of Santa Patrizia) is a monumental church in Naples located in the street of the same name, between the major and lower decumanus of the old town. Together with the adjacent monastic complex, it is one of the oldest, largest and most important religious buildings in the city.

The statues and the small canal of Prato della Valle in Padua.
A few months ago I visited the city of Padua and I found a really beautiful town.
This, in particular, is Prato della Valle (considered one of the largest squares in Europe); a rounded open space of the city where you can walk.
From this square starts the pedestrian street (here in Liguria we will call the carrugio) that crosses the entire center of the city.

The statues were fundamental to the transformation of the Prato not only visually but also financially. In fact, they were paid for by individual citizens or groups upon payment of a sum that could vary between 135 and 150 zecchini and which served both for the living cost of the statue and as a contribution to the general works of the Prato.

We are getting closer to Christmas and for this reason I had kept this photo, taken some time ago now, of one of the many stalls on the famous nativity scene street in Naples (via San Gregorio Armeno).
The famous modern figurines that represent the characters of the moment: politicians, athletes, singers and famous people for all tastes!

In fact, the famous street of nativity scenes (via San Gregorio Armeno) is famous in Naples, offering a showcase of all the local craftsmanship related to the nativity scene. Furthermore, there are numerous museums in the city and beyond (such as the museum of San Martino or the royal palace of Caserta) in which historical pieces or entire scenes set during the birth of Jesus are exhibited.

The Loggia dei Lanzi in Piazza della Signoria in Florence.
Although its real name is Loggia della Signoria, like the square of the same name, I knew it as the Loggia dei Lanzi.
This structure, created before the Renaissance (and with a Gothic appearance), was built to house the many public assemblies of the Florentine Republic indoors.
Inside there are various works of great value, among which the Perseus by Benedetto Cellini stands out.

The Loggia della Signoria is a historic monument in Florence, located in Piazza della Signoria to the right of Palazzo Vecchio and next to the Uffizi, which is attached to the back with a terrace right at the top of the loggia.

Internamente la chiesa è costituita da un’unica navata con presbiterio, coro, un altare maggiore marmoreo e quattro laterali. Nel 1938 si rinnovò la seicentesca facciata in stile barocco genovese.

Il Presepe della Parrocchia di Santa Sabina a Trigoso 2020.
Tutti gli anni il bellissimo presepe viene preparato ed esposto nella chiesa di Santa Sabina nel borgo di Trigoso, frazione di Sestri Levante.
Con le statue che si muovono ed il trascorrere del giorno e della notte.
Uno dei più belli che io abbia mai visto.

The beautiful bronze statue of the famous lady who founded the Piccolo Coro dell'Antoniano in Bologna who will soon become Blessed.
In the representation of the artist from Sestri Alfredo Gioventù the director teaches the fish to sing!

Maria Rachele Ventre called Mariele (Bologna, July 16, 1939 – Bologna, December 16, 1995) was an Italian choir director. She was the founder of the Piccolo Coro dell’Antoniano of Bologna, which she directed for over thirty years. Her beatification process has been underway since 2013.

Statue a My Son Sanctuary.
Una serie di belle ed antichissime statue che adornano una delle costruzioni funerarie nel santuario vicino ad Hoi An. Purtroppo le costruzioni e le statue a My Son sono un pochino consumate dal tempo anche perché, come potete vedere anche voi, sono state realizzate in terracotta e mattoni.
Ma sono comunque bellissime da vedere ed esplorare in un parco bellissimo e molto ben tenuto.

La traccia più antica di monumenti di culto a Mỹ Sơn è la stele con iscrizione del IV secolo, in cui il re Bhadravarman annuncia la fondazione di un tempio dedicato a Shiva Bhadreshvara. Questa fondazione ha un particolare rilievo storico, in quanto il complesso religioso di Mỹ Sơn era il principale luogo di culto dei sovrani del regno Champa, nonché il luogo dove venivano cremati dopo la loro morte.

Scalinata fontana Pretoria a Palermo.
Camminando nel centro storico della città si possono incontrare molti splendidi monumenti.
Come questa splendida piazzetta dalla cui scalinata di accesso si notano le tantissime statue di questa fontana.
Leggendone la storia poi è anche molto particolare dal momento che fu acquistata da un’altra città.
Vi lascio alla foto che forse è più bella di tante parole:

La fontana Pretoria fu realizzata nel 1554 da Francesco Camilliani a Firenze, ma nel 1581 venne trasferita in piazza Pretoria a Palermo. Spinto dai debiti ed in procinto di spostarsi a Napoli, don Luigi, grazie al fratello don García Álvarez, riuscì nel 1573 a vendere la fontana alla città di Palermo.
