The snow-capped Maritime Alps seen from Sestri Levante

Le Alpi Marittime innevate viste da Sestri Levante

The snow-capped Maritime Alps seen from Sestri Levante.
On particularly clear and cold days (I have had this photo in my archive for a long time and I really don't think the day I'm posting it was that cold) from my Sestri Levante you can see the Maritime Alps, those on the border between Italy and France, very well.
Obviously to photograph them you need a good telephoto lens!

The Maritime Alps are a section of the Alpine chain located in the Western Alps. According to the Partition of the Alps, they are the Alpine section that extends between the Tenda pass and the Cadibona pass. According to the SOIUSA, however, they constitute a subsection included in the section "Maritime Alps and Prealps of Nice" and extend from the Tenda pass to the Maddalena pass.

The small port of Camogli seen from Recco

The small port of Camogli seen from Recco with a telephoto lens.
Some time ago I was in Recco and from there I photographed, thanks to a powerful lens, the small port of Camogli.
The sky, being summer, was not very clear and therefore the photos are a little blurry but always in an unusual perspective for me.

Do you know the village of Camogli?

Here I leave you a couple of videos of the small port of Camogli that I made on another day:

Videos recorded with Gopro Hero 10 Black.

The most significant architectural aspect of the town is the presence of colored buildings overlooking the beach. The colors and the lighter horizontal lines (called string courses) served the sailors of Camogli to more easily recognize their home among the various floors of the buildings in the village and return there after fishing.

Salendo alle Rocche di Sant’Anna tutte le volte mi piace fotografare la mia bella Sestri e, da questa posizione, si riesce a inquadrare benissimo la Baia delle Favole anche in una giornata non molto bella climaticamente.

Deiva Marina seen from the path to Monte Nicolao.
Some time ago I went along the path that leads to Monte Nicolao, one of the mountains that dominates the eastern Liguria.
As soon as we left the car (in the Barachino area) we climbed up and I immediately took this photograph of the town of Deiva Marina, the small seaside village.

Chiavari seen from the Aurelia towards the Grazie

Chiavari vista dall'Aurelia verso le Grazie

Chiavari seen from the Aurelia towards the Grazie.
One of the most beautiful points from which to photograph Chiavari is the climb on the Aurelia that leads to the Santuario delle Grazie.
If you come at sunset the colors are truly spectacular.

The second skyscraper in Lavagna

Il secondo grattacielo di Lavagna

The second skyscraper in Lavagna.
This in the photo is the second skyscraper in the city of Lavagna (I photographed the first one here).
This one is not in the center and is a little more bare aesthetically; still very tall though.
In the photo you can also notice the monumental cemetery of Lavagna and, in the distance, the grandstand of the Entella stadium in Chiavari.

The Apuan Alps seen from Mount Groppi

Le Alpi Apuane viste dal Monte Groppi

The Apuan Alps seen from Monte Groppi.
As I wrote to you some time ago, from the top of Monte Groppi, one of the mountains overlooking the Passo del Bracco (the road that goes from my Sestri Levante to La Spezia), you can enjoy an almost 360 degree view.
Looking east you can see, very clearly, the Apuan Alps.
You will have all recognized them, right?

Have you ever walked this trail?

To see all the photos I took along the trail, click here:

The adjective “Apuane” is linked to the population of the Apuan Ligurians, who populated part of the Ligurian and Tuscan-Emilian Apennines and the Apuan Alps in pre-Roman Italy. Strabo called them Lunae montes, meaning “mountains of the moon,” Dante Alighieri called them Monti di Luni, an ancient Roman city in the province of La Spezia.

The Bay of Silence seen from Ciappa du Lu

La Baia del Silenzio vista dalla Ciappa du Lu

The Bay of Silence seen from Ciappa du Lu.
These are the last two photos I had left to publish from that time he went down, along the Punta Manara path, to the famous rock called Ciappa du Lu.
In addition to being a place that is now almost uncontaminated, or at least it is in the non-summer periods, from there you can see one of the most beautiful views of the Bay of Silence.

Don't you also think the view is splendid? Add a comment or go to the bottom of the site to read what other visitors have written.
