Land appetizers: ham, mozzarella and vegetables.
A nice plate of mixed land appetizers.
Raw ham, aubergines, potatoes, carrots, courgettes, tomatoes, broccoli and, of course, the inevitable centre of the plate, two lovely mozzarellas!
A classic in Italian cuisine is definitely the appetizer. It is used to whet your appetite but sometimes it is so abundant and tasty (as in this case) that you basically already have an almost full stomach before starting the actual meal.
Here, in fact, the plate was really big but there were three of us and we quickly polished it off before the pizza.
