Vines suspended above Monterosso.
The Cinque Terre, but practically all of Liguria, are difficult lands: few flat areas and many hills, if not even mountains, that drop sheer to the sea.
As almost everyone knows, Ligurian man, for centuries, has not given up cultivating the few lands that steal space on the steep sides of the hills, terracing as much as possible and planting vines and olive trees.
Very famous, from this point of view, is the coast of the Cinque Terre in Eastern Liguria.
Here, for example, you can see some vine plants just above Monterosso.
