Two steps in via San Vincenzo in Genoa

Due passi in via San Vincenzo a Genova

Two steps in via San Vincenzo in Genoa.
Every time I am in Genoa, not by car, I always try to take the train at the Brignole train station on my way back. To get there, after walking along via Venti Settembre, you have to go through this large pedestrian street that is downhill at the point in the photo.

Here is the spot where I took this photo:

The neighborhood takes its name from the church of the same name, now deconsecrated, dedicated to San Vincenzo di Saragozza. Until the construction of the “Mura Nuove”, in the 17th century, it was a village outside the defensive walls of the city called “Borgo di Bisagno”, because it was located a short distance from the stream of the same name.

A glimpse of via San Vincenzo in Genoa.
Even in the center of Genoa you can take excellent shots.
This is via San Vincenzo, in the beating heart of the Superba. In fact, all the third sector workers, or at least all those who arrive in the center by train, pass by here at least a couple of times a day.

Via Galata a Genova

The central Via Galata in Genoa.
Located near the modern center of the city, between the Brignole train station, Via San Vincenzo and Via Venti Settembre, this street is one of the most seen by commuters who reach the many offices in the center from the station.
The name of the street, Galata, recalls one of the neighborhoods of the Turkish city of Istanbul; Turks who had a large community in Genoa.

The current neighborhood, formerly known as “Pera” and founded by the Genoese, is developed on a hill overlooking the sea, surrounded by narrow streets and alleys (almost carruggi), on which stands the Galata Tower, on whose entrance a historical inscription commemorates Genoa. Despite many earthquakes, it has never collapsed and today it is a tourist destination for the view that can be enjoyed over the entire old part of Istanbul from its summit terrace.
