A glimpse of the medieval village of Brugnato in the province of La Spezia.
The beautiful village of Brugnato gave me many ideas for taking many beautiful photos.
The long alleys with the beautiful colored houses are one of my favorite subjects.

Between the 7th and 8th centuries, following the conquest of Liguria by the Lombards, the Columban monks of Bobbio, who followed the rule of Saint Columbanus and continued their work of evangelization, built a monastery that over time grew to become a religious and economic nerve center. The birth of Brugnato is therefore linked to the foundation of the abbey which, like other monastic sites in Liguria and northern Italy, depended on the abbey of San Colombano di Bobbio.

Un vicolo del centro della cittadina di Lavagna.
Anche la cittadina di Lavagna ha un bel centro storico con dei vicoli carini e molto colorati.
Questa e’ via Montebello, un breve vicolo che unisce (univa forse perché ora e’ interrotto) via Roma, il vero e proprio caruggio, con via Nuova Italia.

Uno dei tanti vicoletti del borgo di Moneglia in Liguria.
Il piccolo borgo marinaro di Moneglia ha un centro storico molto piccolo ma fatto di carruggi e vicoli molto belli e caratteristici.
I colori delle case ed i piccoli archi che collegano diverse abitazioni sono proprio tipici di queste località della Riviera ligure.

The ancient toponym of Moneglia (ad Monilia) appears in the Tavola Peutingeriana, a copy of the military map of the Roman Empire (11th – 12th century) preserved in the Austrian National Library in Vienna, discovered by the antiquarian of Augsburg, Corrado Peutinger, in the sixteenth century.

A glimpse of Tellaro, a splendid seaside village in Liguria.
One of the Ligurian seaside villages with the most creuze and alleys that I can remember visiting.
In the province of La Spezia and perched on a small promontory overlooking the sea, it has a small labyrinth of stairs, arches and alleys in which it is wonderful to get lost.

Tellaro is the easternmost hamlet of the municipality of Lerici, in the province of La Spezia. It has been reviewed as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
The town is a small seaside village, perched on a cliff overlooking the Gulf of La Spezia. A destination for many Italian and foreign artists, Mario Soldati found a home here during the long years of his old age.

Girovagando nel centro storico di Genova, tra i vicoli che dal Porto Antico salgono verso il centro moderno della città, e’ facile incontrare edifici e monumenti belli e ben conservati.
Come questa torre del XII secolo fatta costruire grazie alle ricchezze ottenute dalle crociate.

La Torre Embriaci, anche chiamata Torre degli Embriaci, situata nella zona più antica di Genova, quella dove sorgeva il “castrum”, si lega al nome di quel Guglielmo Embriaco che «crociato […] tornò vincitore da Cesarea». È l’unica delle numerosi torri che si trovavano nell’attuale centro storico di Genova ad essere stata risparmiata dall’editto del 1196 che volle il taglio ad 80 palmi di tutte le torri cittadine.

Passeggiando tra i bei vicoli del centro storico della città ad un certo punto mi si apre questo scorcio sul Duomo che ovviamente non potevo esimermi di fotografare e condividere con voi.

The Metropolitan Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, commonly known as the Florence Cathedral, is the main church of Florence, the symbol of the city and one of the most famous in Italy; when it was completed in the fifteenth century, it was the largest church in the world, while today it is considered the third in Europe after St. Peter's in Rome and the Milan Cathedral. It stands on the foundations of the ancient cathedral of Florence, the church of Santa Reparata, in a part of the city that has hosted places of worship since Roman times.

Two steps in the center of the small but very nice Swiss town of Lugano.
This is one of the prettiest alleys in the center with this beautiful arcade that hosts shops with all sorts of goodies.

Salita Santa Brigida a Genova.
Quando si arriva alla stazione di Genova Principe e si vuole andare verso il centro storico (in Università oppure verso il Porto Antico) vi consiglio di passare in via Balbi.
Una cinquantina di metri dopo l’inizio della via incontriamo (a destra e a sinistra) salita Santa Brigida.
A destra ci sono i famosi Truogoli mentre a sinistra si apre questa irta salita che porta al quartiere di Castelletto.
