The alleyway and the castle of the village of Moneglia in Liguria. Thanks to the telephoto I managed to take a beautiful photo of the western part of the alleyway of the village of Moneglia with, above, the Monleone Fortress that dominates the town.

Between the 7th and 8th centuries, following the conquest of Liguria by the Lombards, the Columban monks of Bobbio, who followed the rule of Saint Columbanus and continued their work of evangelization, built a monastery that over time grew to become a religious and economic nerve center. The birth of Brugnato is therefore linked to the foundation of the abbey which, like other monastic sites in Liguria and northern Italy, depended on the abbey of San Colombano di Bobbio.

Burano is a town of 2,270 inhabitants that stands on four islands in the northern Venetian lagoon. It is part of the municipality of Venice and in particular of the municipality of Venice-Murano-Burano. It is connected by a bridge to the island of Mazzorbo, which has become a sort of appendix. The town is known for its typical brightly colored houses and for the centuries-old artisan needlework of Burano lace. Continue and learn more on Wikipedia

Street S. Dallorso in the historic center of Chiavari. In the center of Chiavari, just after the Piazza dei Coi (Piazza Mazzini) there is this small street where the first branch of the Banco di Chiavari is located. I thought that the “S” stood for San but obviously I was unable to find much (or rather I found nothing at all) about San Dallorso; as they wrote to me in the comments, it is Senator Nicola Giuseppe Dallorso, the founder of the Chiavari bank, to whom the street is dedicated.

A glimpse of the historic center of Lavagna in Liguria. It is certainly not the most well-kept or touristy corner of Lavagna but it has that certain something of lived-in that fascinates me anyway. Wandering around the small historic center of the Ligurian village you will find many cute and very photogenic corners. Here we are between Vico Goffredo Mameli and Vico Palestro.

A beautiful view of the alley of Moneglia in Liguria. The beautiful alley of the village of Moneglia, the last municipality to the east of the province of Genoa. I really like the sbatacchio arch that connects the two buildings at the end.
