One of the places to visit in Brescia is its splendid castle that dominates the entire city.

The castle of Brescia (known as the Falcon of Italy) is a fortress built in the medieval era and perched on the Cidneo hill, close to the historic centre of the city of Brescia.

The small port of Camogli seen from Recco with a telephoto lens.
Some time ago I was in Recco and from there I photographed, thanks to a powerful lens, the small port of Camogli.
The sky, being summer, was not very clear and therefore the photos are a little blurry but always in an unusual perspective for me.

The most significant architectural aspect of the town is the presence of colored buildings overlooking the beach. The colors and the lighter horizontal lines (called string courses) served the sailors of Camogli to more easily recognize their home among the various floors of the buildings in the village and return there after fishing.

La vista che si apre da questo cancello mi fa pensare ad un sogno…
Il cancello è quello che permette di entrare nell’Ex Convento dell’Annunziata, il complesso che domina uno dei lati della baia.

La Chiesa di San Lorenzo della Costa che domina il Tigullio Occidentale.
Percorrendo la strada Aurelia nel tratto tra Rapallo e Recco si scavalla il Monte di Portofino e poco prima di arrivare nel punto più alto di passa nella piccola frazione di San Lorenzo la cui chiesa ed il campanile godono di una vista eccezionale.

Ecco dove si trova la frazione:

Distante all’incirca quattro chilometri dal centro urbano sammargheritese, la frazione collinare è situata a 198 metri sul livello del mare lungo uno sperone roccioso circondato da tipiche coltivazioni ad ulivi con la caratteristica tecnica ligure dei terrazzamenti.

The ancient Torre degli Embriaci in Genoa photographed from far away.
One of the most beautiful spots to photograph Genoa is the Belvedere Montaldo which is located in the Castelletto district.
From there the view extends over almost the entire city and, thanks to the telephoto lens, you can photograph details that would otherwise be difficult to see.
This is the case of the ancient Torre degli Embriaci with its grandeur and behind it the top of the bell tower of the church of Santa Maria in Castello.

The Embriaci Tower, also called the Embriaci Tower, located in the oldest part of Genoa, where the “castrum” stood, is linked to the name of Guglielmo Embriaco who “as a crusader returned victorious from Cesarea”. It is the only one of the many towers that were located in the current historic center of Genoa to have been spared by the edict of 1196 that wanted all the city towers to be cut to 80 palms.

La vista di Roseau capitale della Dominica, piccola isola nei Caraibi.
La scorsa stagione sono stato con la nave un paio di volte in questa piccola isola dei Caraibi.
A dire la verità quello che c’è nella foto è anche tutto quello che ho visto io dell’isola: solo il panorama che si vede dalla nave.
Purtroppo non sono mai riuscito ad uscire!
Un “to do” per le prossime stagioni.

La Dominica, ufficialmente Commonwealth della Dominica (in inglese Commonwealth of Dominica), è uno stato insulare del Mar dei Caraibi, Repubblica parlamentare all’interno del Commonwealth con capitale la città di Roseau. Appartenente all’arcipelago delle Piccole Antille, l’isola è situata a metà strada tra le isole della Guadalupa e della Martinica. Contrariamente ad altre ex-colonie della regione, la Dominica non è mai stata un reame del Commonwealth con il monarca britannico come capo di Stato: divenne infatti una repubblica al momento dell’indipendenza.

The Bay of Silence in Sestri Levante seen from the churchyard of the Capuchin friars' convent on 9 May 2023.
The splendid bay that is the symbol of my town is certainly one of my favourite subjects.
When last May I wanted to do some tests with my old ef lens, I went all the way to the churchyard of the Capuchin friary, one of the best places to photograph the Bay.
Even the swimming pool of the Hotel Helvetia has its charm!

The view of the village of Thira on the Greek island of Santorini.
Another photo from my visit, by ship, to the island of Santorini, in Greece.
This is the village of Thira and can be reached from the sea either by a steep cable car or by a winding pedestrian road famous for the donkeys that can be rented for the climb.
