Antica capitale del ducato di Parma e Piacenza (1545-1859), la città di Parma è sede universitaria dall’XI secolo. Situata nel Nord Italia, nella parte occidentale dell’Emilia, tra gli Appennini e la Pianura Padana, la città è divisa in due dal torrente Parma, affluente del Po che, appena prima di entrare nel cuore del centro storico, riceve le acque dell’affluente Baganza.
